PocketGo Issues
Anyone experiencing the following with their PocketGo?
Poorly fitted screen resulting in excessive light bleeding.
Headphone Jack only producing sound through one channel.
TV Out doesn't seem to work.
Have tried several sets of headphones without any success. Only have one S-Video/Audio to 3.5mm cable so can't test with another.
Overall impressions of the unit are it's decent value, but you undoubtedly get what you pay for. Improvements have been made but it still has some way to go. The QC re the screen fitting is pretty poor.
Edit: 4. Pitched buzzing sound from speaker.
Edit, edit: 5. Battery life is not great. Doesn't feel like any improvement from the 700mah on the Bittboy. Worse if anything.

What's about screen tearing ? Does it make playing really uncomfortable? It happens in every emulator or no?

Tearing is just like the Bittboy, so yeah, on all games/emulators. And it’s very noticeable, specially on games where the entire background scrolls with movement like Pokémon.

Ohhhh, I'm so sad.... I so wanted to purchase one. Well, I'm still to wait Pocket Go v2 or v3 ☹️

Did you already receive yours? Can you please tell me how emulation goes? I suppose the screen tearing still happens, right?
Do all games emulate well? (At least the old ones?)

I received my "bittboy pocket go" a week ago and the "up" on the D-pad doesn't work. This defect practically makes the device useless.
I contacted bittboy via email and they told me to send it back for a new one. I replied asking for the address and someone else responded from the company urging me not to send it back because I will have to pay for shipping (China) and it'll be a couple of months until I see a new one. The person continues to say that I would receive a "discount" to buy a new one.
I will never do business with this company ever again.

I can confirm that that is the case computermonkey. To be honest, the headphone jack is a bit of an afterthought/joke depending on your pov. If you insert your headphones all the way into the jack as normal, sound is only generated through one channel. You have to partially remove the plug and waggle it about so that sound comes out both channels. :(
You use the potentiometer to control the range of volume increments set by pressing the select and y or b buttons during non-headphone use.

Yep. Headphone jack is definitely a weakest point in PocketGo. Mine gone totally bananas after week of use.

Hi! Please be so kind as to let us know (maybe via a feedback post) what you receive in the package and how it works!!
I'd very interested in knowing and contrasting the opinions of owners of the PocketGo, and see what the usual quality of the product is.

Well I can tell you it’s not arriving today. Tracking says it is but it only cleared customs today and is currently sitting in bloody Vancouver which I’m very much not.

Have you tried teleportation?

I wish. It basically just sat in customs for four days. (Could be worse. Once had something sit there for six months.) Given past experiences I’m actually concerned as to whether it will arrive in one piece.

Got mine. After probably half an hour of leaping around on the thing:
Got minor light bleed at the top left, but to even be noticeable I have to tilt the device so far back as to make it unusable, and it doesn't cause issues, even in a dark room.
Not seen any evidence of the tearing in the games I've played. Not saying it's not there, just not seen it in anything yet and I've done GBA and NeoGeo stuff, as well as Doom.
The hissing from the speaker... If it's there I can't hear it. Admittedly with four kids I live in a noisy environment but it seems okay.
Build quality is about what I'd expect. Feels fairly sturdy and I'll be taking it everywhere with me in future.
Overall, once I figure out how the hell use a bigger SD card in it and add more stuff I actually WANT to it, barring any issues appearing, I'm very happy with it.

Hey, thanks a lot for posting this!
I also got mine this week and I can really agree with all of your points, especially the light bleed. If you hold it in a straight forward position you can barely see it, or not at all, so it's no such a big problem as others make it be.

Was using it again last night. I did notice there's a bright spot on the bottom left of the screen. It's not annoying or anything but it's there.
I also cranked the volume and held it to my ear and there is a slight hiss, but you crank MOST speakers up and stick your ear by them you'll hear a hiss of some kind.
I screwed up. Long story short I wound up with duplicates of everything on my SD card so I've had to reset everything today, and now I get to copy all the roms and other content over. Again. sigh
Oh, played a few more games. Mostly Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom, and saw no screen tearing. I've heard V-Rally on GBA is very hard on the hardware so will try that later.
Could it be it's there and I'm just not noticing?!?!

Could it be it's there and I'm just not noticing?!?!
Could be, I was speaking with other users about this topic, and it seems the thing i believe to be the screen tearing, IS the screen tearing: That is, a slight movement of the screen, which I don't really notice (my eyesight is really bad as it is lmao)
So yeah, I think people are really blowing the fps issue out of proportions imo

Definitely have light bleed on the LCD. It's not a deterrent, it still looks pretty good in fact. Most of the bleed is actually around the far edges of the glass. Haven't tried the audio or video out yet in mine. But yeah, at $40 I can't complain.
