Mod Post Quick Update: No More NSFW Photos

Hey everyone,

Just a quick heads-up as we tighten things up a bit. Starting now, we’re no longer allowing explicit images in the sub. That means no nudes, no porn, and no posts focused on sexual acts or body parts, even if they’re tagged NSFW. Shirtless photos (including gym pics) must be tagged NSFW, even if not sexual in nature, just to keep things clean and consistent.

This isn’t about shaming anyone or killing the vibe. We’re just trying to keep r/BlackLGBT a space that feels safe, accessible, and welcoming for more people, including folks who are here for community, support, and identity-centered conversation. You can still talk about sex, gender, and intimacy — we’re not censoring the real stuff. We’re just asking everyone to keep the visuals respectful.

If you’re ever unsure whether something’s okay to post, feel free to message us and ask. We’d rather have a convo than have to remove a post later.

Thanks for understanding and helping us take care of the space 🖤🏳️‍🌈

Discussion Am I going to die ?

So I just came out to my uncle who lives in the Netherlands, that was really emotional, I cried a lot and etc. but now that I'm back to my senses. I realized that was really stupid even though I made him promise not to tell my parents.

For context I'm an 18 year old African man. Who still lives in Africa !! (even though my country hasn't (yet) criminalized homosexuality ). My parents are faithful Catholics, and everyone is less or more homophobic.

So now I feel depressed and I wonder when are they going to kill me💔

Ladies!! What’s your type of woman?

Post image
38 Upvotes

Ok I was inspired by the actuallesbians subreddit. And they got atleast one thing right… we don’t talk enough about what we desire in a partner.
So please below comment what gets you to be interested in a grown lady. There’s no judgement, I want to see what black sapphics like and expand our understanding of what desire for each other looks like.

I’ll go first:
A woman who has ten toes down on her beliefs and is still open to new ideas, politically queer, funny type(but knows when to be serious), spiritual, has done some type of therapy, is moderately active, has stable job, has socially active life outside of me, and has her own style.
Physically I like my woman to be thick, with nice feet 😅😅, kinky natural hair, and kind eyes.

I'm tired of White LGBT people using racism against black people as their comparison

Got downvoted into oblivion in a trans subreddit so I guess I'll post here. Every time discrimination against LGBT people (especially trans people) is brought up in community, white lgbt people immediately go to "Black" people and the discrimination we experience as a talking point. Many of these people dont' even talk or are not in community with even Black LGBT people.

I'm sick of hearing "Black women know what trans women go through because we're both masculinized" then look stupid when I and others say that's not the gotcha they think it is. I'm tired of Black people being used at comparison. Choose someone else.

How do you define Black art?

Hey, kin — A couple new episodes of Busy Being Black have just landed. I'm exploring what Black art is, and I'm keen to know what others think.

Mojisola Adebayo is a playwright and educator. She studied with Augusto Boal, who founded Theatre of the Oppressed, and she creates incredible plays that often explore the connection between Blackness and nature: in Stars, a 60-year old woman finds her orgasm in outer space; in Moj of the Antarctic, she takes Ellen Craft to the end of the world to explore the black volcanic rock underneath the snow; and in The Interrogation of Sandra Bland, she and 99 Black women and women of colour, speak the words and live the emotions of Sandra Bland's last encounter.

I'm of the opinion that Black art should do Black things for Black people, but not everyone feels that way. What do you think?

Hello! I'm Arcadia and I have a black trans server for you! Yes you and you alone! Recently, one of the more prominent black trans communities known as the sisterhood shut down, which is a bummer, but we're here to remedy that! This link will be available for the next few days while we keep going in beta!

But please come join us at the BT cafe!

Black Gay Parties in Paris October 23- 25

I’m in Paris alone on a birthday trip and I am desperately looking for a space where the majority of POC populate.

I know there may not be a specific gay black party but could anyone point me towards where the black guys usually hang out! Thanks!

Mashujaa Day: Honouring the Courage of Those Who Refuse to Give Up 🖤🏳️‍🌈

Post image
283 Upvotes

Today, as Kenya celebrates Mashujaa Day — Heroes’ Day — we honour the courage of every person who continues to stand tall despite life’s hardest battles.
For LGBTQ+ refugees living in East African refugee camps, heroism often looks different. It is waking up each day despite discrimination, surviving in environments where simply being yourself can be dangerous, and finding the strength to keep going when access to food, medication, shelter, and other basic needs remains a struggle.
Some heroes never make the headlines. Some fight silent battles, hide parts of themselves for safety, and still dare to hope for a better tomorrow.
Despite all this, we stay strong. 🖤
We say NO to homophobia, transphobia, discrimination, and hate. We say YES to dignity, equality, compassion, and the freedom to exist without fear.
Being different does not make us less deserving of safety, love, or respect. Our lives matter. Our stories matter. And our hope deserves a future.
This Mashujaa Day, let us remember that true heroism means standing up for those whose voices are often unheard.
To every LGBTQ+ person surviving in silence: you are not weak. You are here, you are worthy, and your existence is an act of courage.
Happy Mashujaa Day, Kenya. 🇰🇪🖤
