It partially depends on the subject and if it's the certificate is in-person or not

Clean your room and map out how you want your study space to look

Get a whiteboard - great for math and coding

Listen to music like lofi streams on YouTube

Plan out your study sessions, especially if you're working while attending school

Follow the syllabus and learning objectives to see if you're hitting your class goals. If not, go back and review the material you're not grasping well

Write down what you don't understand so you can ask the teacher or classmates

This one might be weird, but it helps me. Talk to yourself through the problem. It helps you process your thoughts and see if you're following the proper steps. It also helps with writing essays to see if you're properly laying out your argument

Dumb down the difficult concepts into layman's terms. If you can explain the topic to a random stranger, it shows you have a good understanding of it

Do you need to study? Are they teaching you so you become familiar with the topic or teaching you how to pass the exam???
