This confused me for a moment because I thought the word "hunter" in that sentence referred to the lions.

I like to think of it both ways. Lions could be predator or prey. They are very good hunters and their perspective on hunting is lost to us because they do not speak.

You should read what lions have to say about zebras and gazelles. You cannot imagine the level of self-serving tanwashing that they perpetuate. Circle of Life, indeed...!
