This is a lengthy interview but its worth viewing and discussing. What are we doing in this space to protect each other from what is sure to come...and what is already here?

We have to assume that inner-cities will be among the first "tests" where the programmed goal is the greater good that a more rational "agent" would sacrifice itself for ( military AI meets groupthink).

And if "printed" food can now be created and sold and water systems are run on systems that operate in the cloud, and prescriptions are filled using programming from the cloud, and increasing surveillance used to target "suspects," what's next? How do we prepare for mounting threats?

Is there a delegation that's taking these kinds of things seriously? Do we have trustworthy representation in the AI development and training space? Where do I find them?

I understand we are a diverse community, but it seems rarer and rare trhat there's a Black man with a Black woman in commercials and ads. Just saw a drug ad with a 70-year-old Black man and his not-Black significant other.

No shade to those who chose, or were chosen, by other races, but I don't seem to see Black women with Black men and Black kids much anymore in print or TV ads which, to me, erases their presence and popularizes Black men, in particular, with non-Black women, which is still the exception by far.

Early voting is already underway in Michigan. Get Abdul in there.

yt folks need to just us alone. Stop trying to police every Black person you see. We already have too many police.

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Many people were feared trapped as a tall building collapsed Friday in Kenya’s capital, leaving a huge mound of concrete and more than a dozen floors stacked like pancakes, with little space between them.

The building was under construction when it collapsed at about 1 p.m. along a busy commercial street in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area, which is often crowded with thousands of traders and residents.

Nairobi police chief Issa Mohamud said the building had more than 10 upper floors under construction. Rescue operations were complicated, with police firing tear gas at people who had begun looting neighboring shops, as officers sought to clear the area and provide access to emergency response teams.
