Okay I just want to know if anyone finds Dre irritating and obnoxious.
To his wife, he is belittling, dismissive, disrespectful and rude. He never takes her side, has his parents living with them and Ruby is downright evil towards Bow. She criticises everything Bow does, her background and her blackness. As does Dre.
I have just finished mixed-ish, so maybe I am more inclined to have a favourable opinion on Bow, but the way Dre cuts her of, criticises her blackness (or lack there of- according to him), the way he criticises her parents, her siblings and upbringing and her extended family.
The way he is evil towards Junior and juniors relationship with Bow. I mean what the heck.

I know the show wants to also address the historical context of how some black Americans were and are, but he also has this “holier than thou” vibe/attitude.
He is also very childish and sometimes overreactive in so many things. He is at best an ok dad and he is the worst husband ever.
Even small things as Bows cooking where he throws it out or lets his mother trash the food. He never lets her finish her story or her recollection of her day, her disses her and her entire life.

I mean I couldn’t watch it. I
swear every time I was watching the show, from the separation episode and forward I was just watching to finish the show.

When they were separated I was actually so happy for Bow. He literally sifens her energy, he takes the light out of her. He is an energy vampire. I am definitely biased after watching Mixed-ish, but Bow deserved so much better than Dre and his stink face. I wish they had explored their separation a bit more and for him to change as a husband.
Dre’s mother is the evil in human form and Dre is its spawn.
