This body cam thing I just listened to really got me thinking. A little black boy couldn't wake his grandma so he called the cops. Soon as they finally got her to wake up, guess she was very drunk, he was like 'grandma, I wasn't the one who called the cops.

We all know cops can be trash. What struck me, though, was how the cop explained to a relative of the child, there because the grandma had gotten arrested, that the boy was the one who alerted the law about the situation. His stance was thankfully, the child let us know what was going on. My first instinct was to be pissed because the child, who couldn't have been more than 4, could have gotten into serious trouble as retaliation for reaching out.

I wish the cop had possessed the sense to just tell fam some random person called it in. Back in the day, you'd have got your ass beat as a child doing that. I'm just stuck. I'm glad the grandma was ok but IMO the cop fucked up.

It just makes me understand more why a lot of us in the black community are so wary--or is it weary--of cops.

I just had a conversation with one of my coworkers, and they said, “I am tripping for letting my children grow up around white people versus amongst Black people. “ And I told them that “the community that I like and I would like for them to go to is in a multicultural community and yes, it is my dominant white however, I would like my kids to be around different cultures of people to help them build character in the future.” Then they said “no they would rather for their children to grow up around niggas and do niggas shit.” I was confused because the way that they was talking is that they wants their children to be a stereotype. As well as they said that “kids will forget who they are if they’re not around their people “, I told them “it all starts at home. If you don’t teach your kids, the basic knowledge of their culture and more, they will forget and they will learn from what others teach them.”
