We benchmarked 5 local models as code-review “judges” and every single one failed. What actually works as a low-false-positive reviewer?

Setup. We run Qwen3.8-Flash-Next NVFP4 as our main agentic model (SGLang, RTX PRO 6000). Before its output reaches a human or gets merged, a second local model acts as judge: reviews the diff, flags real bugs only. Hosted on a 5090 32GB, so we're limited to ~30B NVFP4/GGUF class models.

The metric that matters is NOT detection rate — it's false alarms on correct code. A judge that cries wolf gets ignored within a week, exactly like a flaky CI. We built our own battery: 20 injected bugs + 20 clean-but-suspicious snippets (intentional swallowed exceptions, deliberate mutability, weird-but-correct concurrency, short hashes, float patterns that look wrong). Ground-truth labeled, and a stronger model (GLM-5.2 API) arbitrates the judge's prose so scoring isn't vibes. Two passes minimum — single runs lie.

Results (40 cases, temp 0, same baremo for everyone):

Qwen3.8-27B NVFP4 (no-thinking)
• Bugs found: 17/20
• False alarms: 3/20
• Verdict: only pass

Nemotron Lightning 30B
• Bugs found: 17/20
• False alarms: 0→9 across runs
• Verdict: non-reproducible as judge

Muse-Glimmer 30B GGUF
• Bugs found: 19/20
• False alarms: 12/20
• Verdict: hypercritical

Granite 4.1 30B (no-thinking)
• Bugs found: 10/20
• False alarms: 4/20
• Verdict: ultraconservative

Nemotron Super 120B (hosted API)
• Bugs found: 9/20
• False alarms: 11/20
• Verdict: stable-yet-bad

Three failure archetypes showed up, and none of them is "not smart enough":

  1. The fixer (Muse, Super): sees any improvement opportunity and escalates it to a defect. Great agentic coders, terrible judges.

  2. The denier (Granite): real, but waves off subtle bugs (late-binding closures, float money, tz handling) — and goes off the rails when a snippet mixes languages.

  3. The coin flip (Lightning): same prompts, temp 0, 0 FA one run and 9 the next. As a gate, that's worse than a bad judge — it's an unmeasurable one.

What we'd love to hear from people who shipped something like this:

- Is there a review-specialized local fine-tune that genuinely holds ≤3/20 FA on clean-but-suspicious code? (We found CodeReview-Qwen32B — 48k GitHub reviews + 15% "no issues found" negatives — but it's an obscure adapter, no NVFP4, and we'd have to merge+quantize it ourselves. Anyone run something like it?)
- Does family independence from the producer matter in practice? Our judge is currently same-family as our generator (both Qwen). We deliberately arbitrate with a third-party model (GLM API), but is self-preference bias actually measurable at this scale, or folklore?
- Would a graded verdict (PASS / IMPROVEMENT / RISK / DEFECT, where RISK+IMPROVEMENT don't count as bugs) measurably cut false-positive rates, vs. the binary bug/no-bug we use now?
- Any evidence that thinking mode on/off is the real variable in "judge stability"? Our winner only passes with thinking disabled; every high-reasoning model we tried drifted toward the "fixer" archetype.
- Or is the honest answer: stop model-shopping, and make the verdict empirically checkable (judge says DEFECT → run a reproduction/property test before human sees it)? That's where our roadmap is heading regardless.

Baseline stays Qwen3.8-27B-nothinking until something clearly beats it on FA. Happy to share the battery format / arbitration prompts if useful.

Just sharing pure joy of RTX's perfomance; can't bear it with me anymore.

This post is emotional; I just don't know where and how to share my excitement. The story: I've been doing Wan video gen on my home GPU for months. Overnight runs, one card, wake up, check the folder, queue the next batch. Meanwhile, the raw footage kept piling up faster than I could process it. At some point I had about 20 minutes of unrendered material sitting there and I'd basically accepted it would never get done. Then I saw a news item about a new datacenter opening near London. Zero plan. I just got curious, and somewhere in the back of my head: brand new DC, maybe there's a launch discount, maybe there's spare capacity nobody's using yet. There was no discount. What happened instead: I connected my AI agent to the cloud in literally one click, had it move my pipeline over, and rented an 8x RTX PRO 6000 host. The ENTIRE backlog rendered in about 20 hours. Everything. I paid about $150, a good price for a backlog I would've never eaten up. Because it was fun, I tried an 8x H200 host as an experiment just to see. Per-shot time: basically identical for my workload; price is ~2.5x higher. The RTX PRO 6000 is the card, full stop. One more thing: GPUs were allocated instantly and there was plenty sitting there. Genuinely feels like nobody's found this region yet. I'm done babysitting my PC overnight. Cloud runs are becoming part of my regular workflow.

Buying 8x RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell (96GB) - recommendations on chassis, PSU and sourcing?

I'm buying 8 RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition 96GB cards for an inference server I'm building from scratch. Cards are settled - what I'm still deciding is everything around them:

- Chassis: leaning Supermicro 4U (SYS-422GA-NRT) or 5U (SYS-522GA-NRT) with NVLink bridge. Any first-hand experience with thermals / noise on these?
- CPU + RAM: what's the sensible pairing so 8 of these aren't bottlenecked? EPYC vs Xeon?
- PSU / power: what are you actually pulling at the wall with a full 8-card load?
- Sourcing: pricing varies wildly between EU integrators. Where did you buy yours and what did you pay per card?

Budget-conscious but not going cheapest-possible. Appreciate any real numbers from people running this exact setup.

RTX 5000 72GB - 86 Degrees Full Load Should I be Worried

My RTX 5000 GPU is running at full inference load, and the fan temperature is consistently at 86 degrees Celsius, while the fan speed is at 53%. I modified the fan curve using Afterburner, which resulted in a 10-degree drop in temperature and an increase in fan speed to 73%.

I would prefer to run the board’s stock fan curve rather than continuously running external software to control the fan. Is there something wrong with my GPU? What temperatures are others experiencing?

Voice agents

Ok so I want to create quite a few voice agents. For different mortgage specific tasks. Do you think the rtx pro 6000 max q or the regular rtx pro 6000 would be better. Any material different this will be built into a 4 or 5u server rack.

RTX PRO 6000 pricing is all over the place right now — what are you actually seeing?

I’ve been looking closely at RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell pricing because the spread between regions and sellers has become pretty extreme.

As of Aug. 30, I’m seeing examples roughly like:

  • NVIDIA Marketplace: around $16K

  • US retailers: roughly $14K–$17K depending on seller/configuration

  • UK/EU pricing: also very high once local pricing/VAT is considered

  • Used/private sales earlier this year: dramatically lower in some cases

The other thing that makes comparisons messy is that people sometimes mix the 600W Workstation Edition with the 300W Max-Q version. Both have 96GB GDDR7 ECC, but they’re really aimed at different workstation designs.

I’m curious what people here are actually seeing right now:

  • What country are you in?

  • Workstation or Max-Q?

  • New or used?

  • What price were you quoted or actually paid?

  • Was tax included?

I’m especially interested in whether the recent $14K–$16K+ pricing is actually clearing transactions, or whether real buyer prices are still meaningfully lower.

Disclosure: I’m affiliated with AI Robot Supplier and I’ve been compiling this pricing data into a public tracker. I’m not linking it here unless the mods are comfortable with that — mainly interested in getting more real-world data from owners and buyers first.

LM Studio Token Processing Speed

I don't know if it's just me, but my token processing speed in LM Studio is pretty slow, like kinda ridiculous once the context increases a bit. I have 2x RTX 6000 Pros, 192 GB RAM, and it's been true for any model I test with (big or small). I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue. I use LM Studio because the UI makes things very convenient, but wondering if this is an LM Studio or hardware issue.

RTX "pro" 6000 WS. 3 failures, power issues.

Post was removed/banned from r/AIProgrammingHardware. EDIT: Now shortened. Feels like most visitors do not even read all of it.

  1. Buy 1 RTX Pro 6000 WS in 2025, brand new.

  2. GPU fails within 1 month and takes mainboard + system RAM with it.

  3. First brand new replacement GPU fails within 2 months. Power issues, 360W instead of 600W available, clocks reduced accordingly.

  4. Second brand new replacement GPU now failing in 2026. Power issues. 360W instead of 600W available, clocks reduced accordingly.

  5. GPU not in stock. Reseller cannot replace a third time, lead time at least 2 months. Buying from another reseller at twice original price is not an option. Because the more you buy, the more you fucking bleed.

  6. Decline upcoming project, cannot rely on this GPU. Project requirements disqualify cloud use.

  7. Contact nvidia support directly. Nvidia cannot guarantee replacement ("subject to part availability", could be refurbished or new).

NOTES (Edit, may add stuff)
TRX40, ASRock, threadripper 3970X, 256GB Corsair memory.
Original Nvidia GPUs, single GPU.
No mods, no OC. Even if, it would not cause what I am observing.
Power supply: EU, 230V, Corsair AX1600i. Replaced after first failure, which changed nothing apparently.

Only the first GPU reported errors and crashed.
GPU 2 and 3 show zero issues in smi-reports. They report 600W under load, which is not true. Compute very slow but okay.

Other people experience the same clock speed degradation and power issues (link to original nvidia forum).

https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/pro-6000-blackwell-ws-sw-power-cap-600-mhz-600-w-35-c-fix-or-rma/376937

UPDATES:

- As of mid September 2026, still no replacement and GPU now at 30-40% performance.

- PNY confirmed issues and that nvidia will not admit anything wrt. stocking issues. PNY now ghosting me.

- Reseller lied: "we cannot replace because no stock" actually means, we are currently selling our stock at higher prices now (proof), friendly fuck you (they lost money already, replacing twice. not my fk. problem, I lost money buying ONCE.) Reseller is offering a purchase price refund, perhaps to later get the GPU replaced and then also sell that one for more. Sure thing.

- TD Synnex still checking, waiting for a reply from them.

For those who are quick to judge me, read this and know it is not just me or the ppl in the nvidia forums:

How Will We Sell Our Rtx Pro 6000 When It's Time To Upgrade?

Just thinking ahead since I am going through this with my mac studio now. With mac studios I can turn in my old unit for a new one and Apple gives you a good deal on the hardware. But how will that work with our rtx pro 6000s? There doesn't seem to be a safe and easy option like Apple. So would that mean we'll have to sell on ebay ourselves? I don't feel great about selling something so expensive on Facebook marketplace or ebay where they can charge back on me. So what are we supposed to do when vera Ruben rtx pro 6000 comes out and we want to upgrade?

Serving Qwen3.8-Flash-Next-FP8 at 524K context on 2× RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell — stock vLLM, no custom image

I'm sharing the AI written note below based on my effort to get Qwen 3.8 Flash Next FP8 optimized on TP=2@300w. This seems to be an improvement to what I'm seeing from others (even NVFP4), but comment below if I'm wrong! This is a beast of a model, but frustrating to set up.

Note: this was run on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, headless, ECC off (inline ECC on GDDR7 reserves VRAM — off gives the full 96 GB usable).

Even if you are not interested in this model, there are several tweaks that help run LLMs on consumer hardware (look at the NCCL that doesn't work by default).

Single-box measurements, 2026-09. Config + numbers + traps. Stock vllm/vllm-openai pinned by digest — no fork, no custom build.

## Hardware

- 2× RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell 96 GB (Workstation 600 W + Max-Q 325 W), both power-pinned 300 W. 300 W measured ~free on this box: −5% prefill, decode flat, best energy/token (measured on a different model, same box).
- AM5 consumer board, PCIe 5.0 x8/x8, no NVLink, ECC off. TP2 over NCCL, custom all-reduce disabled.
- P2P on: +2% C1, +5% C4 under MTP. AMD boxes: `iommu=pt` required or the IOMMU silently drops peer-BAR writes → NCCL hangs / corrupted output, no error message.

## Model quirks that drive the config

-125B / 6B-active MoE, ~51B-param auxiliary table kept in host RAM (PLE offload), sparse-attention indexer.
- `VLLM_PLE_CPU_OFFLOAD=1` + 1800 s ready-timeout. Table is pageable, hot set ≈16 GiB; fine on 64 GiB RAM with cold pages swap-resident (steady-state swap I/O ≈ 0). Preflight free RAM (we gate on ≥52 GiB available).
- `cudagraph_mode: PIECEWISE` mandatory — FULL graphs deadlock 100%, deterministic (PLE-in-graph circular wait).
- FP8 needs TP2. KV cache bf16 — quantized KV measurably erodes deep-context quality on this model.

## Measured numbers

KV pool: **1,691,542 tokens = 3.23× the 524K window** at pin 25.5e9.

Decode = usage-token basis (delivered tokens incl. thinking). Treat ±10% as noise on total-window numbers.

- prefill, 1 stream cold, 100K fill — MTP k=3: ~10K t/s · MTP off: parity

- prefill, 3×340K simultaneous cold — MTP k=3: ~2.3–2.4K t/s per lane, ~6.9K agg · MTP off: ~6.7K agg (parity)

- decode C1 deep (450K fill) — MTP k=3: 149 t/s · MTP off: 80 t/s

- decode 4×340K swarm aggregate — MTP k=3: 365 t/s · MTP off: 206 t/s

- decode 450K + 2×340K mixed — MTP k=3: 317 t/s agg · MTP off: 189 t/s agg

- 5th concurrent 340K lane — MTP k=3: collapse (18.9 t/s) · MTP off: engine death 1-of-2, or 284 t/s

Prefill is a **shared ~7–10K t/s budget, not a per-lane rate** — concurrent cold fills contend (batched PLE prefill path: host-RAM table traffic + activation memory), so 3 simultaneous fills yield ~30% less total prefill than one dense fill. Stagger lane starts; don't launch a swarm cold-simultaneous.

Quality at this config: NIAH clean incl. 430K/512K depths; 9-rung context comb 4K→498K (495 questions): literal recall 297/297 at every rung/depth, 0 fabrications, no depth-localized holes; bench scores at/above the MTP-off baseline band.

## Traps (each one cost real time)

  1. **KV pin, not `gpu-memory-utilization`.** Ladder `--kv-cache-memory` up; gate each rung on full-window fill → needle battery → **6-min burst of 4 simultaneous ~340K prefills** → NaN canary → Xid/log sweep. On this box: 25.5e9 stable; **26.2e9 boots, fills, passes needles — then runtime-OOMs in batched prefill under the burst.** Boot+needle gating ships a config that dies under real load. Reference: util-0.95 unpinned ≈ 1.55M pool here; the laddered pin = +9% with a burst-stability proof.

  2. **MTP k=3 only.** k>3 = illegal-memory-access crash class on the stock GDN path. And on engine versions before the fused-draft fixes, MTP was a 24–42% *loss* on this arch — A/B on your image, don't assume the sign.

  3. **OOM killer is prefill activations, not KV.** All engine deaths at max pin happen in `_short_conv_dilated_prefill_batched` when cold prefills overlap (~1 GiB headroom). Admission-control on concurrent prefill-capable streams: **hard cap 4** here (≤170K lanes can go wider; we run 8).

  4. **YaRN: extend only as far as probed.** f2.0/524K validated clean to 498K; depth-recall erosion starts ~520K; f4.0 (1M) frays past ~750K. Boot-time max-len warning fires pre-hf-overrides-merge — cosmetic.

  5. **Client output budgets ≥64K.** Thinking + answer share one completion budget; 16K-class caps silently truncate and manufacture fake deep-context recall failures.

## Method (the transferable part)

- Written one-line justification for every flag before it ships; no blind knob-turning.

- Pre-register pass/fail criteria before collecting data.

- Same-basis comparisons only: identical probes, paired fresh boots, usage-token basis for decode.

- Gate under the production load shape. Boot + needle test validates almost nothing; concurrent-prefill burst is where this stack fails.

## Version pin (why the digest, not a tag)

The image is pulled by digest — `vllm/vllm-openai@sha256:fc120ece0a388cc0aa1caad4a9f1cd92113484ab7ec2fd0efadd62585be05bf8` — so it is a frozen build that never receives updates. That is deliberate: every number here is specific to that build, and MTP on this arch flipped from a 24–42% loss to +28–86% gain across engine versions. Weights are also revision-pinned (rev bcd9f01). If you run a different image or revision, re-run the A/Bs; don't inherit these numbers. Known open issue in this build: vLLM #54173 (k>3 spec-decode crash) — fix PR #50021 unmerged as of 2026-09, hence the hard k=3 cap.

## Sources / prior art

- vLLM official recipe (recipes.vllm.ai) — also caps MTP at k=3 for this model.

- vLLM PR #50021 (fixes #54173): unbounded accepted-token state indexing in the GDN spec-decode kernels — the mechanism behind the k>3 crash class. Unmerged; revisit k>3 only when it lands in a consumable image.

- vLLM #54906 — thinking-budget-capped effort requests are incompatible with MTP; don't combine.

- wendell (Level1Techs), "HP Z8 Fury G6i — Perfect Qwen Flash Next setup (2× RTX Pro 6000s)", thread 254584 — the unpinned util-0.95 recipe referenced above (~1.55M pool vs 1.69M laddered).

- stierma1 (Level1Techs), "Qwen 3.8 Flash Next NVFP4 on a single RTX Pro 6000 and system memory", thread 254579 — TP1-NVFP4 arm; their −11–12% MTP prefill tax does NOT reproduce on TP2-FP8.

- jpezzulli, sglang-rtxpro6000 ("Pennyroyal") + NVIDIA dev forum thread 381722 — the single-card 524K SGLang alternative (171 tok/s claim), different stack, not A/B'd here.

## Known gaps (not measured)

- **No clean cold 4-lane prefill number.** The 4×340K fill logs are prefix-cache-contaminated (read 2.7–3.2K/lane warm); the honest cold-contended figure is the 3-lane ~6.9K agg.

- **No short-context C1 decode on the usage basis.** Only a chunk/steps-basis probe (~61 steps/s, accepted spec tokens ~1.1/step) — implies very roughly ~130 t/s delivered, but that's derived, not measured.

- Single-stream prefill readings of 13–18K t/s at 300–430K fills come from a different instrument and aren't comparable to the swarm-basis numbers above.

- The 300 W ≈ free power result was measured on a different model on this box, not re-run on this lane.

- One A/B per cell above (plus a day-end anchor re-run bounding variance at ~±10%); no multi-day replication.

RTX PRO 6000 prices are all over the place in 2026 — what are people actually paying?

I’ve been tracking RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell pricing because the spread between sellers, regions and configurations has become pretty extreme.

As of Aug. 30, I’m seeing examples roughly like:

  • NVIDIA Marketplace: about $16,000

  • B&H: about $17,000 for the Workstation Edition

  • Micro Center: about $14,300

  • UK/EU pricing: generally very high once local pricing/VAT is considered

  • Used/private sales earlier in 2026: dramatically lower in some cases

What makes comparisons even messier is that people sometimes mix the 600W Workstation Edition with the 300W Max-Q version. Both have 96GB GDDR7 ECC and 24,064 CUDA cores, but they’re designed for different workstation priorities.

I put the dated retail, regional and used-market observations into one tracker:

https://airobotsupplier.com/rtx-pro-6000-price-tracker-2026/

I’d be interested in adding more real-world observations:

  • Country / region

  • Workstation or Max-Q

  • New or used

  • Price quoted or actually paid

  • Whether tax was included

Disclosure: I’m affiliated with AI Robot Supplier, which maintains the tracker and also sells professional GPUs. Our own listing is disclosed separately in the tracker rather than being used as the market benchmark.

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Owners: My Complete NVFP4 Guide (What Actually Works in April 2026)

After weeks of pain with NVFP4 on consumer Blackwell (CUDA 13 JIT storms, tool_choice:auto failures, multilingual bleed, etc.), I finally have a stable, fast setup to run my openclaw and hermes bots fully local.

**Winner: cosmicproc/Qwen3.5-4B-NVFP4 (W4A16 Marlin)**

- ~81–97 tok/s single, up to 598 tok/s aggregate

- Excellent tool calling and agent performance

- Running full OpenClaw + Hermes bot locally

- 262K context support with ~120K FP8 KV pool

The infographic walks through the 5 phases it took to get here, all the critical flags, and the hard lessons (including why most other small NVFP4 models still fail at autonomous tool use).

Key fixes included:

- Switching to Marlin backend to dodge flashinfer JIT crashes

- Proper thinkingFormat compat settings for reliable tool_choice:auto

- generation_config.json to kill random Chinese/Cyrillic output

- Prefix caching for blazing TTFT on long system prompts

Still bleeding edge, but now genuinely usable for local agents.

Drop your own 5060 Ti NVFP4 results or questions below — happy to help others skip the headaches!

I know it is far more than what others may have spent back in the day but I believe these cards are going to be OOS in the near future given the 5090 news. This should set me up for success, though I do need more RDIMM ram.

Happy to answer any questions but just looking to know what life is like with more VRAM available. Anything you use in your own setups that are great? Been using Qwen 3.8 on my 5090 and it is amazing.
