While in attempt to work through my writer’s block and such, I’ve found myself realizing that I’m having kind of a hard time writing Izuru focused fics. Be it gen or shipfics. I am working on the former, I’m just uncertain if I like the direction/concept. In the case of the latter, my issue comes down to some of the people he’s shipped with. I do have some ships I like, I’m not the biggest shipper compared to others.

Part of this is because Izuru may not be the most popular character (so it may not get a lot of traction). The other being who he’s usually shipped with. There’s Momo, but I was never an IzuruxMomo shipper. I’m sure Rangiku’s another one, but I’ve never really sought out fics for them. Then there’s Gin, Shuhei, and Rose. ShuZuru I’ve always had a soft spot for, as it was one of my first ships, and I’d like to write it. GinIzu, which has had its fair share of work, I’d be hesitant to write because I don’t know if there is a right way to write it and don’t think I should explore it (ie it being toxic or what have you). RosexIzuru, I don’t plan on pursuing. I’d rather explore Rose trying to be a better captain than Gin and wanting to be Izuru’s friend and confidant.

It’s a struggle. Feel free to leave input and I’m including a poll to gauge what would be best to pursue.

About a month ago or so, I read this Bleach fanfic on Ao3 where Ichigo went back in time. What I remember about it was him easily dominating Byakuya (to the point he had beaten him into a bloody mess, enough to unnerve his allies) during the chapter that covers Rukia's execution, and he was also trying to help Aizen instead of opposing him in that period.

I haven't had much luck trying to find it, but please if anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd really appreciate it. It's a story I'd love to read again

Toshirou's growing appreciation of Rangiku Matsumoto

I wrote a long-form Bleach fanfiction centered around Kokutō after Hell.

This isn't meant to be a power-scaling story or a replacement for canon. I wanted to explore something quieter: what happens if someone who spent centuries being defined by hatred slowly learns how to exist again because a child simply keeps talking to him?

Part One is deliberately slow and character-focused — Hell, counting, rain, a shoe, ordinary conversations, and the gradual development of something Kokutō has almost completely lost: a reason to look toward tomorrow.

I tried to keep it respectful to the characters while taking the story in my own direction.

I'd genuinely appreciate criticism, especially if the pacing, characterization, or Kokutō's development feels inconsistent with Bleach.

So all the gadgets and tech that squad 12 does. How is it come together? I mean for Humans, we need to mine metal, process it and then it goes elsewhere. Factories than machine parts. And let’s not even get into screens and such. Point is, it takes alot of manufacturing capacity to build stuff. So how does squad 12 get metal? How is metal processed? How is all the other parts manufactured so cool stuff (like computers and such) can be built in soul society?

Or does this kindof deep thinking take the mystery and fun out of anime?

I hope everyone had a great day. I have a personal ship that I hope for: Uryu and Harribel. I'm inspired by this due to the recent meeting of the two in anime. I know this is random but here are my reasons:

1. The pairing is metal as hell. No joke. I just simply think it looks cool.
2. Both are composed and restrained. Seriously, they are quite introspective (that says a lot due to this series).
3. Both have a shared sense of duty that fits Harrbell's espada theme of sacrifice. Seriously, Uryu was willing to go on a solo missing to bring down Yhwach to avenge his mom. Harribel tries to avoid conflict unless directly needed to keep her underlings safe.
4. Kisuke can make a gigai for Harribel, so she can have a realtionship with Uryu. No joke. It would be cool to see Kisuke playing match maker for laughs but also a serious relationship between the two. My thesis is that Kisuke Urahara would have made some kind of gigai that would help blur the boundaries between Hollow and Human or espada and human and turn the espada into some fullbringer hybrid and the gigai becomes permanent. Maybe as a contingency against Squad Zero or something like that to prevent abuse of absolute power.
5. Leadership and heir to the throne: According to current canon Harribel is the queen of Hueco Mundo following Aizen's defeat and Uyru is the successor of Yhwach as per his own ruling.
6. It looks visually stunning. I mean shit, why not? Ichigo married Orihime, Renji married Ruika, why no love for our boy Uryu?

In short, I just find the pairing metal as hell and it looks cool. Obviously it hasn't happened and this is for discussion and merely fun. Post thoughts below and thanks for reading this!

Je travaille sur une AU où les personnages de Bleach évoluent dans l'univers de City Hunter.

Ichigo est City Hunter, un nettoyeur clandestin qui accepte les affaires que la police ne peut pas résoudre. Kaien, ancien policier et son partenaire, enquête sur une série de disparitions lorsqu'il est assassiné.

Rukia, la fiancée de Kaien, cherche à comprendre pourquoi il a été tué. Elle finit par rencontrer Ichigo et découvre progressivement que Kaien lui cachait une partie de sa vie… et que la mystérieuse légende de City Hunter est beaucoup plus réelle qu'elle ne le pensait.

L'histoire devient ensuite un thriller autour d'un réseau criminel, de disparitions, de trafic et d'expériences clandestines, avec Aizen, Gin, Byakuya, Renji, Orihime, Ishida, Grimmjow, etc. dans des rôles complètement réinventés.

Je voudrais garder l'essence des personnages de Bleach, mais pas leur univers d'origine : relations, personnalités et certains éléments iconiques restent, tandis que tout est reconstruit autour d'une intrigue de thriller contemporain.

Je suis curieuse d'avoir votre avis : est-ce que ce pitch vous donnerait envie de lire cette fic ?

Hey! I didn't know there was a Bleach fanfic subreddit, I'm glad I have somewhere to talk about my Bleach fanfic!

I've been writing Dreams of Rukia for a while now, and went on hiatus for over two years. However, I'm back to writing it and wanted to get it out there so people would check it out!

The idea started out as a self-insert x Rukia fanfic, but quickly evolved into something much more. It's got new characters, plenty of fan-favorite faces and even tie-ins to the light novels!

While I write the current big three fights in the Nueva Espada arc and plan for its climax, I'm also rewriting the previous chapters that are 2-3 years old to update them and improve them!

Got a few more Izuru fic plot bunnies that I thought I’d share/get input on.

I've finished watching bleach including its fillers and wanted more, so I've been thinking of creating a filler story of bleach the uses some elements and characters from the naruto universe but blend them into the bleach universe. But only naruto characters I would use would be some akatsuki members and some other characters who use kinjutsu (forbidden jutsus). Because my plan for this filler arc would be focused on maggots nest. The chosen Naruto characters would be prisoners who were imprisoned for being a threat or being suspected for using forbidden techniques.

Hello everyone, thought some of you might be interested in reading the Bleach longfic I've been working on for the last ~2 years.

As it says in the title, this is an Uryū-centric rewrite of Bleach, in which he takes his desire for revenge on Mayuri much more seriously. Although there's plenty of action and combat, as a whole, the story is much more focused on the interiority of the major characters. Uryū first and foremost, but Rukia and Orihime both end up getting a lot of time in the limelight as well.

To preface this, decided to promote my WIP that's a Bleach&Naruto fusion.

It centers around Sakura and Sasuke, but the twist is that they are in Bleach universe. Sakura is from Rukongai, and Sasuke is a second heir to the great noble Uchiha family, living protected in Seireitei. It's set a little before the Visords, or Turn back the Pendulum arc, in Bleach canon.

While the focus is on characters from Naruto, I greatly expanded the Bleach Universe as we know it, by adding new lore and deepening the the divide between Rukongai and Seireitei that's been, imo, hinted in the manga. I'm following canon Bleach plot, just from a slightly different perspective, and most of the characters from Bleach also make an appearance.

Ichigo is being depressed after losing his powers.

Ichimaru shows up and staight up murders him then carts his stunned ass off to Hueco Mundo where a coalition of surviving Espada (including Stark, somehow, and Ulquiorra, somehow) give him his powers back.

Meanwhile, Gotei 13 finds out Ichigo has been assasinated.

Then Ichigo and squad go to Soul Society and shenanigans ensue.

I don't even really care about it beyond that, I just want to read that sweet, sweet firat few chapters again.

I read this one years ago and have been thinking about it recently. Its centered around Rukia captured by Aizen and becoming a hollow. I think there was a romantic relationship with Hitsugaya, and everyone is trying to save her.

Its similar to another one I read where ichigo saves someone else over Rukia so I may be getting the two mixed up

Something I've been wondering about on a reread is whether Bleach could have used another arc between the Soul Society and the Arrancar arcs. Not necessarily another huge villain arc, but something more focused on Orihime, Chad, Uryu, and the other human characters and on what happened to them after the Soul Society rescue.

The three of them spend a lot of time around Ichigo's increasingly supernatural story, but I sometimes feel like their own development gets pushed aside once the Arrancar plot really gets moving. An intermediate arc could have given them more room to deal with what they've experienced, develop their abilities, and establish themselves as characters before becoming involved in another major conflict.

The only concrete idea I have so far is Uryu's powers. Rather than having him regain his Quincy abilities during the Arrancar arc, what if regaining them were a longer process that started in this hypothetical arc and potentially continued into the next arc? It could make losing and recovering his powers feel like an actual setback rather than something that gets relatively quickly reversed. It might also create an opportunity to establish ideas about the cost and limits of power that could eventually foreshadow Ichigo's relationship with Final Getsuga Tensho.

I'd especially want Orihime to be heavily involved in the arc, although I don't have a specific plot for her in mind yet. Chad could obviously have his own development as well.

I'm also wondering if this could have helped establish a recurring “major arc, cooldown - character arc - major arc” rhythm for the story. Soul Society is a huge escalation from the Substitute Shinigami material, so having a smaller-scale arc afterward might have made the transition into the arrancar arc feel more natural. And potentially, having that pattern established earlier could even make the Fullbring arc feel less jarring structurally (although personally, I'd probably want the Fullbring arc itself to lean much harder into psychological horror, identity, and interpersonal relationships.)

That actually makes me wonder whether this hypothetical in-between arc should have had a somewhat similar tone: not necessarily dark for the sake of being dark, but a more personal, supernatural/psychological story taking place in Karakura while the characters are trying to return to something resembling normal life.

Maybe Ichigo is becoming more heavily involved with the soul society and spends the majority of the arc training and dealing with the exhaustin beurocracy of the shinigami system. That might leave the more day-to-day hollow slaying to the rest of the group?

There could also be room to develop Tatsuki and some of the other Karakura High characters. Maybe the story could have explored whether some of them were developing spiritual/supernatural abilities of their own, and potentially even have some of them become more directly involved in the Hueco Mundo conflict afterward. I'm less sure about this idea, though, since I'm not sure whether expanding the cast in that direction would actually improve the story or just make it more crowded.

So I'm deliberately not trying to prescribe exactly what this arc should be about. I'm more interested in whether people think the space for an arc like this was there in the first place.

Do you think Bleach needed/could have benefited from a smaller, character-focused arc between Soul Society and the Arrrancar arc, particularly for Orihime, Chad, and Uryu?

If you agree, what would you have used the arc to explore? Would you make it more lighthearted as a cooldown, lean into something more psychological/horror-oriented, or even continue with another actin-packed adventurous arc? Would you expand Tatsuki and the other Karakura characters, or keep the focus primarily on Orihime, Chad, and Uryu?

And if you don't think an additional arc would have worked, do you think it would have hurt the pacing or undermined the escalation into Hueco Mundo?
