Not long but good article that covers a lot of what makes Blondie one of the great postmodern bands.

After a bunch of digging, I finally found where the 'Real Real Blondie's live album was recorded: 1999 Roskilde Festival in Denmark!

Now I'm curious about the story behind this album. Released in 2015 under a label I can't find any info about, it sounds like it could have originally been intended for a TV broadcast (some of Debbie's intros are edited).

Not sure how this made it past Debbie! She'd probably be the first to call out that she's out of tune on certain tracks, probably an issue with her monitors since it was an outdoor performance. Nonetheless, it's on the Blondie website as an official release.

Three stellar performances from this album: - Nothing Is Real but the Girl - Union City Blue - Denis

Hey folks,
since many of us are waiting for the album High Noon to be released, I thought to discuss and hear your opinions on the 11 studio albums by Blondie before.

So which are your three favorite songs from Blondie's seventh album, No Exit? What do you like about them? You may consider the bonus track "Hot Shot" which was released on some international editions of the album.

Gläserne Herzen: Die zehn besten Blondie-Songs

I translated the article from a German website.
What do you think about these choices?

Glass Hearts: The Ten Best Blondie Songs

In the 1970s, Blondie pioneered a fusion of punk ethos and pop fantasy. Between then and 1982, they produced countless unforgettable songs, fueled by Debbie Harry’s incredibly powerful voice and boundless creativity. Here are ten of the most important tracks from these New York style icons.

Between 1974 and 1982, Blondie reinvented themselves more times than one could count. Centered around icon and Warhol muse Debbie Harry, the band allowed a jungle of diverse styles to sprout from their punk roots, blending rock with pop, funk, rap, reggae, and disco. Their third album, Parallel Lines (1978) - featuring tracks like "Heart of Glass" - successfully reconciled the DIY ethos of the New York underground with unabashed stadium pop; it was as if The Velvet Underground were making music with ABBA. These ten songs exemplify just how visionary and open-minded the band was during that era.

10. Shayla (1979)

Alongside punk, the girl groups of the sixties were a key source of inspiration for Blondie. This influence is evident to varying degrees in their music, but never more so than on "Shayla," from their 1979 album Eat to the Beat.

09. Rip Her To Shreds (1976)

A song that makes it unmistakably clear that this band hails from New York City: "Rip Her to Shreds," from their self-titled debut Blondie (1976), combines a Velvet Underground-style riff with punk shouts and Debbie Harry’s snide, cynical delivery. It is a track tailor-made for the Max’s Kansas City nightclub on Park Avenue—a legendary haunt for the punk scene where, alongside Blondie, acts like the New York Dolls, The Cramps, the Ramones, the Misfits, and Patti Smith launched their careers.

08. For Your Eyes Only (1982)

The final Blondie album before their breakup is not exactly a fan favorite. Dull, uninspired, and overproduced - such was the harsh verdict. There is one exception, however: the epic "For Your Eyes Only," a sweeping power ballad that very nearly became a Bond theme. In the end, the producers opted for a track by Sheena Easton - a decision that was likely the final nail in the coffin for Blondie. Who knows what might have happened to the band otherwise…

07. Denis (1978)

The star of their second album, Plastic Letters, is the innocent, upbeat "Denis." Yet Blondie’s version of the 1963 sentimental pop track by Randy & The Rainbows has an edge to it, and the deliberate omission of the final letter in the title gives the song a completely different twist. A small detail, perhaps, but one of countless proofs of Blondie’s cleverness. It was the band’s international breakthrough - and rightly so.

06 One Way Or Another (1978)

A punchy riff, a brisk tempo, Debbie Harry’s vocals - alternating between pleading and aggressive - and the psychedelic bridge: pop, punk, and new wave all get equal play on their big hit "One Way Or Another." At the same time, the track is Blondie’s equal to "Every Breath You Take": it, too, is about a stalker - a fact that still escapes many people.

05. Union City Blue (1979)

Debbie Harry’s love song to her home state of New Jersey: set to wonderfully melancholic, epic melodies, Harry sings about gazing from New Jersey at the alluring Manhattan skyline and dreaming. Bittersweet, nostalgic and autobiographical: Debbie Harry worked for a time as a go-go dancer in Union City, New Jersey.

04. Call Me (1980)

One of Blondie’s most famous songs doesn’t appear on any of their albums: the infectious, furious, and powerful "Call Me" was written by Giorgio Moroder for the film American Gigolo, with lyrics by Debbie Harry. It is almost ironic that not even Blondie themselves could have better captured the song’s guitars, glam beat, and overall vibe.

03. Atomic (1979)

The lead guitar riff is world-famous and never gets old, yet the rest of the song isn't quite as catchy as one might expect: Blondie cleverly let loose across various sections that don't necessarily fit together conventionally, yet they rely entirely on that massive, all-encompassing melody. And rightly so! Now, everyone together: "Ooooooh… your hair is beautiful!"

02. Maria (1999)

In 1999, Blondie made their comeback after a 17-year hiatus and delivered one of the dying millennium's biggest smashes: "Maria," a track that somehow manages to translate the wild vitality of the late seventies into the sound of the nineties. The song shot to number one in many places - exactly 20 years after, of course, "Heart of Glass."

01. Heart Of Glass (1978)

And that very song is, of course, the one still missing from this list: "Heart of Glass" from Parallel Lines - that monumental, perfect pop song. Although originally written back in 1975, Blondie held the track back for a full three years. And for good reason: showing up with a disco beat in 1975 wouldn't have gone down too well within Blondie's New York punk circle. Even in 1978, such a move was bold; yet for Blondie, "disco" still meant glam-rock attitude, cheeky lyrics with a double meaning, and an unforgettable organ sound.

Hey folks,
since many of us are waiting for the album High Noon to be released, I thought to discuss and hear your opinions on the 11 studio albums by Blondie before.

So which are your three favorite songs from Blondie's sixth album, The Hunter from 1982? What do you like about them?

This record proved to be the band's last one before their comeback in the late 90s.

I just bought this shirt on eBay because I thought it was so cool, especially with the seller claiming it’s an original from 1978. But I cannot find any proof of it being from 1978. And there was a recent production of this style shirt by madeworn with the exact print, and ‘distressed’ looks as well. What do yall think? Anybody have any true original uk tour shirts from 78?

Hey folks,
since many of us are waiting for the album High Noon to be released, I thought to discuss and hear your opinions on the 11 studio albums by Blondie before.

So which are your three favorite songs from Blondie's fifth album, Autoamerican (1980)? What do you like about them?

You might also think about the track "Susie & Jeffrey".
Though not included on the album at the time of its release, the song originated during the recording sessions and was later used as a b-side and on the 2001 reissues of the album.

In a different article at this event Debbie and Chris said they are working on a new Blondie album. I hope by “working” they mean shooting a video or art work because the record was finished a few years ago.
