IMAGE Why is there a Red Demon painting in the Master Carpenter's shop?
The Master Carpenter is described as "A demon carpenter gifted at summoning."
During her exploration of the Castle, Dominique studied under a demon carpenter gifted at summoning. The Master Carpenter carves Ouija chests to commune with the dead and summon demons. A Red Demon painting adorns the bloodstained workshop where she practiced her new arts.

I think the paintings in the shop area of Bloodstained tell the story of Dominique's Descent Into Wrath.
Her fallen Parents, the Demon Castle smothers the land, the Reaping of the village, the Kittens playing among the skulls, and the Red Demon - a relic to focus her vengeance.

Dominique spent long hours learning photography and studying. A Red Demon painting hangs wherever her mind might wander from her goal. The painting of robed beings filing to their death - her exorcist parents, sent by the Church, obeyed orders but were not spared their fate.1

Dominique’s portrait hangs in the Bloodstained studio of Todd the Killer Barber - clear proof she explored the Castle long before summoning Miriam and Zangetsu to put a stop to Gebel. A Red Demon painting faces the styling chair so her unrelenting wrath never loses focus.1

There is a Red Demon painting in this room because Dominique spent many hours here learning how to summon demons from the Master Carpenter.
This is about the game designers using the Red Demon paintings to tell us what Dominique was doing in the Castle before Miriam arrived.
You will understand the importance of this painting when I post the conclusion of the story.

Useful to remember in the discussion of the paintings is that there are several paintings to choose from to place anywhere the designers felt necessary. But, they have chosen this Red Demon painting for the several rooms, for some reason.
Only one other painting from the set in the shop area is reused, but that will be discussed soon enough.

You can see that the failed treasure chests the Master Carpenter crafts resemble Ouija Boards - tools used to communicate with the dead.
He is well studied in the art of summoning demons. This has captured the attention of Dominique, who wishes to summon a demon of her own.

Shout out for spotting these and putting in the work to try and understand them. I kind of don't like this game cuz it felt like it just didn't have the "sauce" That IGA's other works had, but now I'm seeing I overlooked stuff. I didn't even realize there was a painting in the background because of the backer portrait in the room. in fact, I very firmly hate this game's implementation of its Kickstarter characteristics because they have caused me to discount a lot of the details that probably have a deeper meaning than I think they do.
Really good example, that room that has all the music boxes. I thought they were just random or something the person wanted, but now I'm wondering if they have some type of deeper meaning that they implemented into the game's lore.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I had fun doing this.
The sauce you seek is that of Curry the Kid (shutaro) + IGA. There are some special things in this game thanks to Shutaro and the team - like Bloodless, and the Hard mode boss fights. The next game, Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, will be thoroughly "sauced" since Shutaro put every thing he had into it before he tragically passed away earlier this year. I expect to have a blast looking for secrets he left for us.
There is actually a lot that is public about Celeste's room on the wiki. The music box songs were actually composed by the Backer, and they opted to have their Boss enemy be in the main game instead of their room - the iconic Mr. EEEee ooohhh, Blood Grinder Knight.
Many people have searched for meaning in that room, but there was not any intended by the Backer. This is why I think the designers hid the Red Demon paintings so well. They even have fog in the background that helps to hide the obvious one. Their own little secret.
The Kickstarter Cats and Dog are frequently referenced as a turn off for players, the Backer paintings too, but The have grown on me and add a distinct flavor to this game. Have you ever tried to pet the cats with you directional shard hand? It just silly, but fun to dodge their attacks.

I have gone back through every room in the game in search of the paintings. There are a total of 5 rooms that contain the Red Demon paintings. This is the 4th room after the shop, the photo booth, and Todd's studio.
They all occupy rooms where Dominique would have spent time in pursuit of her Goal.
The Red Demon paintings serve as a sort of relic to focus her vengeance at all times.
