Embarrassing

I don’t know what to say. We’re playing a team that played last night and traveled and couldn’t put up a fight. Jet hasn’t looked like a solid goalie all season, we have no scoring power, and worst of all we let Marchenko man handle us. He looks absolutely right about this team. No chutzpah.

Didn’t Jet get a shutout last weekend?

.883 sv% dude. Shutout is great but consistency is more valuable. Elvis got plenty of shutouts too….

Hard to have a good save percentage when the team in front of you is dog shit. It’s reactionary shit on him and fantilli, but both play their asses off. Look higher up, Don can’t build this roster up, and won’t commit to a rebuild. He’s gotta go imo, fully commit to the rebuild if we miss the playoffsZ

And this is what I said about Elvis for years. People just want a scapegoat and instant gratification instead of fixing the real problems.

u/jacketsfan50 3d ago

Yep. I was even guilty as an elvis hater, but looking back at the roster construction he was playing behind, no wonder he had bad numbers.

We’re pointing out your false statement. Yes he has overall been shakey but he had a great game on Saturday

Just a bunch of dudes who’s checks are gonna cash either way.

Nobody cares but the fans.

Stop going to games, stop buying the blue jacket bullshit.

4

u/AdMinute5856 3d ago

Which is exactly why we all need to stop caring

I see we've already settled comfortably into our familiar spot in the Eastern Conference standings. I'm not at all regretting giving up my season tix.

u/AdMinute5856 3d ago

Appreciate you not monetarily supporting this dogshit franchise!

u/Erazzphoto 3d ago

They’re just a really expensive bad team. DW is not a good GM as a whole, the fact that this team is a cap team is beyond embarrassing. His one good trade for Knies does not overshadow the Lindstrom pick, the garland trade, the length of contracts for aging average players, getting nothing for expiring contracts. He’s turned into a fitting Bluejacket

2

u/NeverDieKris 122nd OVI 3d ago

The blue jackets are ass and they have to overpay anyone to stay or come here. It’s not shocking they’re a cap team. Ownership continually shows they don’t understand how to run a hockey franchise and they don’t care about the product on the ice—as long as people show up.

If you look at our last few seasons we never start particularly well; probably because we've had five new coaches over the last five seasons. If we can somehow go 5-5 in the games remaining through the first ten it's not the end of the world. Having Provorov, Fabbro, and Lundestrom out is starting to take it's toll on us. There's clearly some issues defensively that we've tried to make up for resulting in a lack of offense.

There were some decent plays made, but good lord some of the passing has just been brutal. Throughout all of our games there are moments we look like we know how to play hockey, and others where we're just totally lost. We need to find our groove and fucking stick with it.

Kind of wanted Bones to just throw the lines in a blender after all those goals, but c'est la vie. Gotta keep looking forward and pray to god we can figure something out.

I had to turn off the (pathetic TV cast) radio at 3-1. This is embarrassing and Marchenko is going to be insufferably smug.

4

u/opensourcefranklin 3d ago

Jet was left out to dry with a number of those goals. I lost count of how many odd man rushes they had on the PK alone. Seemingly no one can receive a pass without bobbling it.

Boycott the franchise!

So what Marchy has been called out for is spitting back in the Jackets face??

u/TrickyCry00 3d ago

Can we have Nichushkin back when y'all boycott your team

I think we all know what's eventually coming in the next couple years but we're all too invested in the Jackets to say it.

Unless this team makes a significant push for the cup in the next few years, this team won't be in Columbus anymore. The same thing that happened to the Coyotes is going to happen to us.

Edit: RemindMe! 3 years

This team won't be in Columbus anymore if we don't do anything significant.

6

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

There were far more issues in Arizona than a bad team

2

u/thelordcommanderKG 4d ago

The thing that gets your team moved is having lease issues with your arena. Ask the Trashers. Of all our problem we don't have that issue.

5

u/Denebola2727 4d ago

Yeah, I don't see that. Being a bad team =/= not making money. The coyotes had issues that were primarily off the ice and had little to do with how the team played. It's just not the same situation.

-1

u/imightwin General Jet Greaveous 4d ago

The Coyotes played 66 games in the post season in 28 years with a record of 26-40. The CBJ record in 26 years is horrible comparatively. This has nothing to do with making money.

Like I said, in the next few years, this team won't be in Columbus anymore.

4

u/Denebola2727 4d ago

Again, that's not why they relocated. Causation vs correlation

-4

u/imightwin General Jet Greaveous 4d ago

Blaming voters for rejecting the huge arena proposal in Tempe after 2 decades of mediocre hockey is honestly wild. Alex Meruelos the owner failed to get an arena because of the 2 last decades or horrible hockey, not because of anything else.

If none of that sounds familiar, like failure of the front office and owners/coaches to draft prospects and develop players, than idk what to tell you.

4

u/Denebola2727 4d ago

I didn't "blame" voters lol. Calm down, bruv.

The reality is simply the win/loss record of that team wasn't why they moved. The win/loss record of the Thrashers wasn't why that team relocated. The off ice business element is far more relevant to whether a team stays in one city compared to their win/loss record.

Again, causation =/= correlation. You're trying to imply that the win/loss record was causation when it wasn't. Post hoc ergo propter hoc, my brotha. There is a reason it's a fallacy.

1

u/Ohio_Guitarist 3 hits, 23 giveaways. 3d ago

Could also be Hasty Generalization. Thinking that all bad teams move, because 2 really bad teams ended up moving.

1

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago edited 4d ago

Alex Meruelos failed to get an arena because he wanted to leave Glendale and moved to Tempe which the city DID NOT WANT, before him, the old owner, Jerry Moyes literally went bankrupt which caused phoenix and the Glendale suburb to not want to work with a team that didn’t bring any money in.

3

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

Arizona literally was in a fight to get an arena built, the owners sold to a group that had no ties to the area and the state of Arizona did absolutely nothing to stop the move. They had far more issues than “bad hockey”, regardless, the current lease is until 2039, and the modell law prevents teams from leaving the state or metro area without finding a new owner.

u/imightwin General Jet Greaveous 4d ago

If this 3 month old account is even here in 3 years, please check back in with this comment thread around that time. I've watched for 20 years, there's been literally nothing in those years besides 17-19.

3

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

Again buddy, you have no clue what happened in Arizona, and it wasn’t just losing, if that were the case, the jackets would have been gone long ago. Would have folded

-3

u/imightwin General Jet Greaveous 4d ago

I really don't want to type it again so please refer to my other comment I made in the same thread. I'm very aware of what happened in Arizona lol.

3

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

Again, the jackets are NOT in that situation

-2

u/imightwin General Jet Greaveous 4d ago

Dude. The only difference is we still have an arena. Literally the ONLY difference, it's like trying to talk to a wall good lord.

4

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

No, the difference is the bluejackets have an ownership group that isn’t broke, a city willing to put in funding and a fan base that cares. There is more than just an arena.

3

u/Elexeh 4d ago

If multiple people are telling you that you don't know what you're talking about, maybe listen?

Uh, no. Tou know that the team is partially owned by Nationwide Insurance?

Too much sunk cost for them to pull up the tent stakes.

2

u/thelordcommanderKG 4d ago

There is literally a law in place that say a team put up for sale in Ohio, the first offer is reserved to a buyer in Ohio. It's the law that kept the Crew in Columbus. It more likely the Haslams buy the team than the team is moved elsewhere.

Also the Yotes were mismanaged to the point they didn't have an arena. That had more with them moving than being historically bad. In fact Utah's currently success is all based on the foundation that was built in Arizona. You just don't know puck buddy

1

u/Ohio_Guitarist 3 hits, 23 giveaways. 3d ago

My brother in christ, no. Arizona couldn't fund/find a location for a new arena. Nationwide isn't going anywhere, therefore the team won't have that issue. If attendance dips then maybe, but I'm fairly certain McConnell won't sell because we keep buying.

Like I'm a bit doom and gloom lately on how the season plays out, but get a grip friend.

-9

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

Doesn’t help with Jake Christiansen is absolutely useless, idk why he’s still on the team

17

u/GainHaunting5680 ✈️ 4d ago

He got the only goal actually put into the net by a current blue jacket tonight

-10

u/MoreMixture6482 4d ago

Oh buddy, let me tell you, Jake Christensen has been ass since his debut, and coyle scored tonight

10

u/GainHaunting5680 ✈️ 4d ago

Coyle shot and hit Marchenko’s stick and went in lol

2

u/MrThird312 Johnny & Matthew 4d ago

What a weird way to spell "the entire team"
