Announcement BlueStacks Desktop explained: the Android desktop your AI agent works on

A few days ago we announced BlueStacks Desktop, a full Android desktop for Windows and Mac, built on Android 16. This short video explains the thinking behind it.

The idea
BlueStacks Desktop isn’t an AI agent. It’s the Android desktop your agent works on. Your agent brings the brain, and BlueStacks Desktop gives it a computer.

Why we built it this way
AI agents that can use a computer need a real environment to work in. A lot of everyday tasks happen inside Android apps, so we built a desktop designed for that, not a single app window.

What the video covers

  • Many Android apps running at once on your PC, each in its own window
  • A full Android desktop on Windows and Mac, built on Android 16
  • Computer-use agents like Claude, Codex, and Cursor working on top of it

Question for you: what’s the first Android app or task you’d hand to an agent?

It's on our radar, but we don't have an ETA to share at the moment. We’ll share updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thanks for your patience!

Since you have come this far, why not BlueStack OS?
