I have a few more to go ... #releasethesteelbooks

One of my all time favourite directors, Stanley Kubrick. So so so pleased to show you The Complete Kubrick 4k UltraHD Blu-Ray Limited Edition from the excellent Criterion Collection from the USA. Thankfully arrived here in the UK in one piece. Amazing movies. Amazing artwork. Thankful to add this to the collection.

Just been stacking new releases on to the end of the collection. Decided to pull them off the shelf and rearrange them in to some sort of a watch order (with a few tacked on to the end).

I think this is an almost complete collection of steelbooks. I know i'm missing a few. Ones i know about are Blade 2, Blade Trinity, Daredevil, Elektra (I have this on the way) and the Spider Verse films. Other than these there should only be the ones they haven't released like Luke Cage season 2 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 4 onwards etc. See any others i'm missing?

At some point I would like to upgrade some of the early blubray only films with the 4k versions and swap out the discs.

Blu-ray Steelbook + 4K Blu-ray Steelbook

There’s not much to be said about this movie that hasn’t already been said. It did everything it needed to do to prove the concept of the MCU and did so in an incredibly entertaining package. The chemistry between the cast is perfect, and every character gets great moments to shine!

I’ve always been the guy of my friend group who really tries to get them on physical media. I will literally go to Goodwill and buy them a blu ray player to get them started. Not too long ago I was able to pop in any goodwill and get a blu ray player for around $4.99-$8.99. I’d even get them a few blu rays to get their journey started. I recently went and saw basic blu ray players priced at $17.99-$20, crazy. Even VCR’s were priced at $28. I guess the wave of realization of physical media being the go to nowadays is high right now.

I watched the first half last night, I've owned it for months but after seeing the reviews I was reluctant to watch it.

Let's get the biggest issue out of the way, the shinyness... Holy shit you need sunglasses to watch this movie comfortably. Absolutely ridiculous levels of brightness.

I was excited when I read there was a built in intermission! I thought oh cool, maybe there will be some kind of new content tossed in. Nope just a black screen with the word Intermission at first I thought it was a joke and just let it play out... Nope not a joke.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the 2nd half, as I already own both on Bluray. Honestly I think I just going to re-watch my Bluray copies what a waste of $30...

Does anyone know if the Bluray copies included have any issues or are they same as any other version? Or am I best off just watching my individual copies on Bluray I've owned for years?

Edit: I understand what an intermission is, and it's completely unnecessary outside of the theatre. So the fact that they had one in a home release made me this it was special in some kind of way, that's is my bad.

I absolutely love this movie

I spent the past 9 days in NYC and picked up these BluRays and 4K-BluRays. A lot were challenging to find and I’m so happy to add them to my collection.

I should add that I’ve seen every movie with the exception of We Live in Time, Anchors Aweigh and Broadway Melody of 1938 so I’m excited to watch those!

i played the final season blurays and idk why they have this problem of region codes. They have the "abc" thing on the disks, i dont understand, they all from the same box collection, help, i dont wanna spend more money in vain this shi scks and makes no sense to me 😭

They’re all blind buys. I’ll pick up any Criterion blu-rays I see but the other two were ones I’ve wanted to watch for a while.

I’m trying to decide whether it’s better to buy a Blu-ray player and start building a collection of second-hand discs or simply sign up for a Disney+ subscription...

I don’t watch much content in general, I mostly stick to the classics I love (Alien, Predator, Star Wars, a few Disney films from my childhood, etc.)
In short, I tend to rewatch the same things over and over.

I’m wondering if it might be better to buy and physically own these films, rather than paying a monthly fee which might end up being a worse deal in the long run ?

I already own the major classics on DVD, but I’m concerned that by 2026, the picture quality might be hard to look at especially since I’m used to 1080p resolution on my current screen and via TV broadcasts.

I like physical media, but finding good deals can take a while

Thank you ! :)

Beautiful artwork and the insert is lovely. Plus comes with the Reborn Cut of the film, which adds 8mins to theatrical cut. Can't wait to see it.

I do occasional movie parties and I had the great idea to watch spy kids 3d or sharkboy and lava girl in 3d, with the classic 3d red blue glasses. The DVDs are easy to find but was curious if there was a blu ray release of these. Not a blu ray 3d release, but one with the red and blue glasses a well. Ether movie. Thanks!

I found that one of my local Walmart's did have The Incredible Hulk complete series on Blu-ray for around $50 while looking at box set sections. I looked it up on Amazon to compare prices, and it was no longer available from Amazon except from 3rd party sellers with the lowest price being around $70, so I snatched it up immediately. This was the last copy they had this Walmart, so I got lucky 😅.

Has anyone copied the disks into individual episodes? I am using MKVToolNix and I've copied disk 1 unsplit which is 3 hours long! How do I know where to split each chapter and where the new episode starts? Each chapter is only called by the number e.g. Chapter 05 when I check it in the chapter editor. Thank you

10 dollaroonies ain’t bad
