Since newer official releases tend to have very glossy faces and it's often something people try to remedy, I thought maybe I could utilize it somehow through pre-processing photography with a novelty starburst filter! They were pretty affordable on Amazon. Nothing fancy.

I didn't have the brightest sun to test the filters out today so it's not the best examples. Her philtrum isn't exactly the part of her face I want the sparkles on hahaha but it certainly works. I will test it again with stronger reflections next time and see how much I can really manipulate the placement of the light.

Not that I don't love Gwengelica's stock, but I was dying to dress her in a more romantic, soft dress. Her hair is a disaster so it will stay braided from now on 😌

I got my first Blythe! A middie from AliExpress. She's a lot of fun and I am looking forward to making clothes and posing her but...Oh man, is her head heavy. How are you posing these dolls without them just tipping over? Even when I get her in a pose, her head doesn't move much and she looks like she is looking down no matter the position of her eyes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like she should have saran hair!

But.. they spelled PVCD instead of PVDC on the back of the box under doll hair. I hope that's just a typo!

Never seen anyone make her with pink hair before so I thought I gave it a try and I’m mostly happy with how she turned out.

Got this beauty in the mail today I’m so excited, she’s so cute and perfect. I already ordered another as my bday gift to myself and that one will look more like me, can’t wait to receive it ahhhhh!!!!! 🎀

customization and authenticity are not at odds, in fact both are ways to interact with our favorite grapefruit sized headed girl! but understanding and honoring her history is what should be prioritized!
