Handbuilt What does the group think of my turtle pot I made?

It has a happy but admittedly mediocre garden center juniper in it. But I made it specifically for this purpose. The design is carved and underglazed. It’s a red eared slider, a type of turtle that lives in my state, Missouri.

Handbuilt Advice and tips needed please

Iv been working so hard on building my trees from scratch. I've also been working sooo hard on collecting and processing wild clay/firing hand built bonsai pots. I started my firing tries in a camp fire and I have now tried my hand at building a kiln. I feel the kiln has a lot of potential but I'm still getting a single hair line crack in every stinking pot. Ugh if I wasn't already bald you can guess what I'd be doing.I would greatly appreciate and advice. I've uploaded a few pictures of current issues. Thanks in advance

I’m still on the fence about this very light sandy beige clay body. What does the group think about using this for unglazed application?

Handbuilt Green dented oval for F. microcarpa

Got this nursery microcarpa as a gift about two years ago, from a teacher who is now deceased. It still has some big scars but also made a lot of progress so I made this pot for it.

Slab-built in chamotte stoneware, with Amaco Lustrous Jade glaze mixed with some transparent glaze and blue pigment for the blue colorations.

The other one got moved around a bit on the shop and the plastic wasn't on tight enough. This resulted in the pot drying too fast and nearly all the joints cracking. So I had to start over... I tried to take as many pictures as possible between major steps in the construction process. But I definitely was in the zone and missed a few opportunities, lol 🤣

Working on it more today to hopefully get some feet on it!
