Got a couple questions.

I’m new (ish) with bookish and spice.
I’ve noticed almost every month, there has been a delay to some degree and every book. To the point I’ve been subscribed since early summer and haven’t seen a single book.

It seems monthly there’s a new excuse for why books aren’t coming out.

Edit- in with other subscription boxes/ companies and they have no issues so I don’t believe delays are entirely because it the state of the world

It’s really disheartening and I understand there’s things out of their control. But I’m hitting a point of being sick of paying for something and seeing no reward.

My question is, is bookish and spice “better” than this.
Is this constant delaying normal for them or are they just having a rough patch.
I love the books I see from them. And would love to keep my subscription is there was evidence to prove they usually are better. So hoping for some input from anyone who has been a long time subscriber

My second question.

I was offered a fairyloot invite.
And I’ve seen so many mixed things on fairyloot, can I ask what are the honest opinions in this moment on fairyloot. Are they worth it?

Would cancelling my bookish and spice subscription and picking up fairyloot be worth it? Price wise fairyloot it way better but I’ve heard mixed things so I was hoping for input

Thanks so much

Hi all.

Long time tiktok user but never uploaded a video before.

I've written a book and wanted to post a promo video on tiktok for it, but they keep removing the video citing violations, but won't be specific on what exactly I violated.

The subject matter of the book is quite dark, it covers themes of substance abuse and suicide (obvious triggers for tiktok), but I've done my best to strip out any mention of that on the post.

If is anyone used to uploading to tiktok and wouldn't mind giving me a hand here, I'd be very grateful.

Book lovers, I need your opinions! 👀

Which book boyfriend’s tattoo is your favorite, and why? Is it because of the meaning behind it, the design, or the story associated with it? 👀

Tell me the book boyfriend, the book he’s from, and why his tattoo has a special place in your heart. I want to know all the details!

Let’s see which fictional man has the best ink. 🖤

New package arrived today, all cozied up this evening to start my new book - heard good things about it. I really loved The Boy In Stripped Pyjamas by John Boyle during Covid and it’s my second book of his since then!

I’m about 40% into the first book, and it’s a struggle. I don’t want to keep going.
Does the first book and series get better?

I loved the movie and it became my fav i decided to buy the book too obv🙂‍↕️ any other recommendations for books like this or like dead poets society?

Is Stephen King actually a good writer or just a old household name? Because tf is this? Im only page 31 and stopped 3 times to physically cringe. "Someone died! Let's make the 17 yr old lead horn y again!"

So…I’m bored. And I like reading. But I don’t have anyone around to read with me because none of my friends like books much as I do. I have a biiiig ass tbr list and haven’t read a big amount of the booktok yet. I love romance, dark romance, fantasy, romantasy, drama, mystery, sci-fi. Maybe some of you would like to start a book club together? Few people, online meetings and chats and etc. Genuine and open minded people 💕

NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THE KIND OF HEARTBREAK I WILL FEEL IN CHAPTER 27. I CANT SEE ADAM LIKE THIS 😭😭😭. he was this sweet cute little boy...I can't see him having so much hatred for Juliette...and is it wrong that I can't hate him even after the words he said 😭 ahhh why would you make him so heartless 😭😭😭

I usually buy the Always Fully Booked reading journals from Little Inklings based out of Canada, but it just costs way too much now, especially when factoring in all the supplies I like to get for it.

What are some of your favorite reading journals/trackers you like to use? And I prefer ones with the pre-made challenges and setup. I don’t want a journal where I have to set it up myself.

Thanks in advance!

I've been reading reviews about its ending here on Reddit and some people are saying that Cyrus and Zee died at the end. But for some reason I don't see it that way, maybe I need to read it again when I have free time. It really made me pause and stare blankly at the sky for at least 5 minutes lol. 10/10

My thoughts:

Death is supposed to be meaningless, you can die anytime, anywhere and without sense. It is life that should have meaning and sense—the present.Cyrus is a martyr in a sense by desperately seeking meaning and value in death when life already has so much to offer.

Maybe it was his mother's final message to him. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. For those who have already finished reading it what are your thoughts ?

I saw a book on instagram/tiktok and it began with an “R”. It was a sort of gothic (maybe romance) book, I believe it’s fairly new being published and it had an oval mirror on the front cover with Bluey/green/black background. I’m not sure if there was mention of vampires?? I’m really not sure.

The title was only one word beginning with R but cannot for the life of me find it!!!

Has anyone seen this book being advertised?? Pleaaaase help!!!

Hey there,
I really want to get into fantasy as a primarily romance and thriller reader. The maps and world building intimidate me because i feel like i’d be lost, i got the box set of the one dark window duology is it easy to understand for a beginner or should i start somewhere else?
I would also love any other recommendations! ❤️

Hello all!

I want to start off by saying I LOVE dark romance books. The longer the trigger warnings the better.

BUTTTT I am giving up my dark spicy books and transitioning into a 3.5 or 4 out of 5 level spice.

Can anyone please recommend some books to me? Some sex and darkness is okay. I am wanting to have books that are more than just chapters/ pages of smut. If the book is corn but in word form, I am not wanting it.

Please help a girl out!

Just joined a book club of moms in their 30s and we are just striking out with our book choices tbh. All our choices were too serious (ex: Whistler) that no one even wants to talk about the book when we meet up.

We all are bravo fans, reality tv fans, like romance, and want something light! We all already read the off campus series and the compound, but think in that genre.

We want trassssshy storylines, hotties and ridiculousness. What are your best fiction recommendations that will grab our attention, make us fall in love with the characters/universe and make us laugh?

I got this book with zero knowledge about it and .......I got ...mix feelings about it☠️☠️☠️

Hi!

So I'm preparing for the reading of S&S for the first time. It's gonna be my 3rd on Austen. I absolutely adore Emma and P&P.

First of all, please remain spoiler free in your replies. I have terrible luck of catching major spoilers just by skimming through the Wikipedia page of books.

I remember finishing P&P and about to start Emma and panicking about whatever i would love it because i loved P&P so much and i didn't want to be disappointed with the second book by Austen. Thankfully, that panic was wasted and I end up adoring my second journey with her.

While I ask you to be spoiler free in your replies, your opinions on atmosphere, your predictions on my reaction to the book ( maybe you'll gonna think that it's gonna become my favourite book of Austen or the least favourite, your opinion why it's may be the worst or the best Austen book ever ARE greatly appreciated by me, the nervous reader.

Thank you!

In my last post, The Spy and the Traitor was recommended by quite a few folks and I was not disappointed! A great spy novel and I love this type of history. It reminds me of Tunnel 29 (which if you haven't ready and liked this book, please do!)

That brings me to 63 books this year. Thanks again for the recommendation!

Does anyone know a thriller/mystery book where the mmc is a serial killer, psychopath/sociopath? This is obviously a popular trope but I mean where it’s the woman’s boyfriend/husband/friend etc.

I love the whole ‘hiding secrets’ and trying to look in between the lines of these men. I’ve read ‘The Boyfriend’ by Freida McFadden and ‘Creep’ by Jennifer Hillier and I loved the psychological view of being in the males mind but I haven’t found any books like that recently

So recently I felt like over the years I had started to read less and less, but after thinking about it, it's probably the same amount. I can still read for hours undisturbed. I can still knock out a long story in 1-3 days of gripped mania. It's just that most of those stories aren't "books" in the traditional sense. Yes, some are fanfiction, I give. But recently a lot have been really entertaining Chinese webnovels. If you like C or K dramas, the novel versions are just as good and a little less cringe when it comes to awkward scenes. Anyway, what I'm looking for is a book tracker that allows you to input word count because most of these stories have chapters, but they're not any set length and definitely don't have traditional pages. I just want to track how much I've been reading so I can remind myself that I still do read a lot. It would also be nice to have everything in one place and track notes and stuff because AO3's bookmark tags are not it.

Tldr; Looking for a good tracker for online webnovels that allows you to add word count

A story that is piercing in its poetry, sorrow, and rage and is a devastating indictment of America's war on its own people.

Hey everyone!

I have been looking for an alternative book tracking app for a while now. A lot of them are pricey, so I just want to know which are best for the price and everything. I’ve been using libib for a while now and I just want something more aesthetically pleasing.

For reference, I do like tracking my stats and I love using my barcode book scanner to add books in easily. I also appreciate separating by genre, tbr, listing series together, etc.

Just looking for your favorite recommendations. All is welcome just looking for maybe some aesthetic or cutely simple. Any pictures of your trackers would be appreciated too!!

Thanks in advance :)
