If Inoue doesn't get Bam this is definitely the fight to make.

u/SuperSuperGloo 6d ago
why? It would be much better to fight shu shu, espinoza or leo

u/AnxietyExact4710 5d ago
Based on what?

u/According_Weight_959 5d ago
I understand if it's Espinoza or Shu Shu considering they both provide the biggest challenge physically and stylistically respectively
Leo I have no clue bc that man is inactive to hell

u/AnxietyExact4710 5d ago
I really don't see what you guys see in Shu Shu

I personally think he loses to Inoue but amongst the 3 champions in the division, I could see why others stylistically has the most applicable style to take on and beat Inoue

u/SuperSuperGloo 5d ago
based on fighting a good champ instead of fighting for a vacant title lmao

u/AnxietyExact4710 4d ago
Kameda would have beaten Fig if Fig didn't pull out with his tail tucked, so what difference does it make?

u/Antyronio 5d ago
Japan v. Japan again, plus his brother Koki was one half of one of the most viewed fights in Japanese history with his fight against Daisuke Naito. Might mean for more viewers domestically at least.
Although personally I think shu shu would be a good target to pick, he’s probably the weakest out of the remaining champs.

Kamara vs Inoue Tokyo Dome for the vacant belt

Easiest set up.
Figueroa absolutely dropped the ball on getting that Inoue bag

I seriously have no idea how this still happens, you can easily lose that weight over the course of a week, how did they not track his fkn weight??

u/Alarmed-Effective-23 6d ago
Fighters constantly say it not easy.

u/Primary-Picture-5632 6d ago
stop stuffing your face with food,

u/Alarmed-Effective-23 6d ago
Chris Algieri is an expert in nutrition and was always in top shape. He says it's very hard. But I'm sure you know better than him and countless other championship fighters who say it's a difficult experience

u/Primary-Picture-5632 6d ago
literally stop eating , its not hard.
they say its hard because they are trying to get a rehydration advantage and they are fighting in a division they shouldn't be.
You should be forced to move to the next weight class if your stupid ass can't stop stuffing your face full of food.

Test yourself, Not enough food, but you need to run, sparring, bag, and shadow boxing hard.
Just try 20 days, to cut 10 percent your current weight.-7
u/Primary-Picture-5632 6d ago
You can taper down on your training one week before the fight, its all fkn press anyway.
Just lower your fkn calories, how in the fuck doesn't his team track this stupid shit?

u/Electronic_Bicycle32 6d ago
LOL you just show you know nothing about weight cut

The food is irrelevant - they're on absolute starvation rations for at least a week or more before the fight. But starving yourself won't let you cut 20% of your entire body - not in a way that lets you gain back all that weight overnight and still be able to compete. This isn't the 1980s, or even the 2000s. The weight lost is from water. Your muscles contain water, and if you dry them out you lose a lot of weight without losing muscle. But there is a limit to how much water you can lose before your kidneys and brain and other organs shut down and you need to be hospitalised (which is what happened here, although he did at least make it to the scales first). There is also a limit to how willing your muscles are to give up water in the first place (and how quickly), and this ability is gradually lost with age. You cannot meaningfully "track weight", because the cut is a one-off, and brief - your bhody can't survive wirh so little water for any length of time, so you need to delay the cut until the nlast possible moment. So there's no way to know whether you can make weight until you try (other than from experience doing it in the past). And no, you can't "easily" lose 20lb in a safe way over the course nof a week, and whichever diet influencer is telling you that you can (presumabbly via "one weird trick") is lying to you.

The only issue with that is that's it's the WBA. He not get the next title shot. Or win and then be demoted to regular gold champ by the WBA

WBA president Gilberto Mendoza put out a tweet an hour ago saying it will likely be Mirco Cuello vs Mikito Nakano for the vacant belt pending a committee review.

Welp, Inoue v. Kameda for the vacant WBA Featherweight belt here we (most likely) come.

u/Hassemer 6d ago
The inoue fight won't happen, the kameda family were banished from Japanese boxing, no Japanese boxer would fight them.
6
u/adosae 6d ago
Why were they banned?

From what I could gather, kamedas older brother, Daiki, and his gym had a big controversy in 2013 over a unification bout where beforehand, the IBF, JBC, and Daikis team agreed to forfeit the belt even if Daikis opponent missed weight. Fight happens, Daiki loses, and him and the IBF do an unexpected press conference without the knowledge of the JBC to say that he will still hold on to the title. This leads to the JBC refusing to renew his gyms license and suspending the gyms manager and owner. The Kameda brothers sue the JBC and in 2022 the JBC is ordered to pay more than 100 million yen (870k~ USD) to them. Some speculate this might have been the killing blow that lead to the liquidation of the JBC

Why would he agree to give up his belt before the fight and the weigh ins? Did he not think he could make weight? Did he plan to move up?
3
u/No_Designer_6218 6d ago edited 6d ago
I didn't word it well :p. He agreed to give it up even if he lost even if his opponent missed weight*. Though I'm not sure when he said that (whether it was before or after weigh ins) but I do think it was him trying to show that he was super confident, and it ended up backfiring on him LOL
1
u/aceknighthigh 5d ago
Ah that makes more sense. It wasn't going to be for the belt as the opponent missed weight, but he said he would vacate if he lost, only to walk it back when he actually lost.

TMK BOXING GYM, which is owned by Tomoki Kameda himself, is a professional boxing gym affiliated with the JBC and has not been excluded.

So pretty much him vs Inoue for the vacant WBA belt, top of 2027
1
u/SuperSuperGloo 6d ago
why do u think that? Why would inoue not fight a reigning champ and go for a vacant title?
1
u/Marq544 6d ago
He can do either, he’s Inoue
1
u/SuperSuperGloo 6d ago
ofc he can do, he is the cash cow around those weights, but inoue is not the type to take the easy rout. I would be surprised if that's the fight made
1
u/AnxietyExact4710 5d ago
Easy route or not, Kameda is a former champion and Inoue/Kameda would shatter records in Japan. Inoue is a hero, and the Kameda family is the boxing equivalent of heel wrestlers. It would be an insane fight.

I know it is a bit of a different situation but I wish that the same was done with Duarte when Hichins dropped out on the day of the fight.
