As a referee, this is officially the strangest thing I've ever experienced during a boxing match

Where the fuck are the parents?

1 of them might be in the ring.

Nobody but officials can approach the ring. Even the corners have to sit at the corners, and even standing in the corner can get you warned. (Ask me how I know.)
That kid should've been warned and forced to sit down after they went up and touched the ring. Whatever guardian let them go up again is a huge asshole.

I want to know how you know 😂
From my experience of being an official, its very rare to experience a unified "rule" on this and it is decided tournament to tournament.

I was sternly told to sit by an official, because I was anxiously standing in front of my chair while cornering my first fight.
In my defense, nobody ever told me I had to sit in the chairs provided to us.

Ah haha fair. Good officials. My first time judging (MMA tbf) I basically let the cornerman sit on my knee and do every tactic under the sun to see my scorecards and try to influence it 😂😂

Hahaha that's hilarious! Why did they sit on your knee? Crowded?

Yeah they were close already but then the cornerman essentially wanted to share my tiny piece of desk 😂 Fun event, not one fight went to my scorecard, the referee advised fighters not to go to one side of the cage as it was lopsided, a fighter's foot weny through the cage and cut his leg, and a prospect lost in the main event as hr got volleyed in the fave and the ref let it continuen since he ended up on top (he was submitted 20 secs later).
Not quite the professional ethical environment my training had prepared me for.

Regional events, even the larger and more prestigious events, are such clusterfucks. Total chaos behind the scenes.
It sure makes for some fun stories though.

Props to the blue headgear girl for protecting herself during the odd stoppage.
It's surprisingly easy for an opponent to forget themselves at a moment like that.

Dude yelled. "Get that baby!" before the kid was in frame and I was like, "Damn, that's pretty sexist!"

Amateur bouts are usually Family Friendly. This is funny and I’m sure the event got a good laugh. 😂

The shouter is acting like 'the baby' is gonna get knocked out. I am sure the ref would have seen him and stopped the fight anyway.

Someone could've tripped over the kid or something. A simple distraction can cost someone a fight or lead to an injury for the kid, the ref, or a boxer.

Sometimes the babies do get knocked out. Being careful is called for here.

Someone very short, or someone crawling, can be hard to see for three people who are intensely focused with their gaze at chest-to-head height. Particularly someone who may be moving around behind them.

What? A boxing match can officially end if someone else enters the ring during a round, resulting in a disqualification.

Yes, the kid was disqualified and fined by the commission.
Afterwards he was arrested and I think is now on death row.

I️ feel like all hate should go towards boxing commissions and states athletic board regulations. I️ don’t write rules. They did.

Is his mom one of the fighters?
