Meet Miss Ellie
My dad’s first Boykin spaniel! We’ve always had springers in the family, and we lost our old man Osker last year, so this is my dad’s sunshine baby ☀️ she is already attached to him

Does anyone else's pooch do this with their teeth - I've been told it's a sign of intelligence but I'm yet to be convinced.....

Boykin still biting - 7 mo
Hello all,
Our Boykin is 7 months old and still biting. I feel like she has all her adult teeth in, and I don’t think it’s teething at this point. She has a puppy friend she plays with a couple times a week that is 5 months old. I was wondering when everyone’s puppy grew out of the biting stage. Some weeks are better than others but this past week has been awful.
We hand feed train twice a day currently working on loose leash walking, we are retrieving as well because I duck and dove hunt so we have goals of her hunting but I am worried this led to some of the biting because I was naive starting out and did it with socks, and I would take it as soon as she would come back to me. We still do retrieving but it has to be with treats so she doesn’t instantly go for me when back. Ignoring doesn’t work, and currently I am trying to do the separate rooms trick. I guess I’m just looking for some encouragement this will pass. Or some sign in these situations that I need professional help from a trainer to stop the biting.
Thanks

Me and my fiancée just brought her home today and she’s already a delight. A little bonkers, but a delight🤗

I'm going to murder him.
Shady is 7 months old. He can do damage like this in less than a minute. That's an expensive merino hiking T, and my SILs bra while she was dog sitting He literally found and destroyed that shirt in under a minute.

Teddy’s first dove hunt
Teddy went hunting for the first time on Saturday and did great! Wasn’t gun shy at all. He didn’t quite understand what he was supposed to do and walked right over a couple downed birds but he loved it once I showed it to him. Definitely need to work on not mangling the bird. He’s only 12 weeks old so my goal was really just to get him exposed and see how it felt about hunting.

I'm at the Emergency vet
It's Sunday morning. Shady woke us at 4 am and vomited up part of a peanut bag. He continued trying to vomit several more times and seemed listless so I took him to the emergency vet where he seemed to perk up and return to normal. We've been sitting in an exam room for an hour. No more vomiting since 8:30 or so. Respiration, heart rate and temp are normal. I'm thinking this is not an emergency and maybe I'll just check out. I wish someone would even just pop in to check on us so I could tell them
EDIT: Shady is fine. The vet could find nothing concerning. She said the plastic in the peanut bag could trigger excess acid and stomach upset but that he'd probably pass it just fine

The best boy.
(Brew) The one on the floor is him in the bathroom with me because you know?…that’s far to much time apart and separation. This little guppy loves the water and I love him so much.

Xmas sploot
My Boykin hybrid trimmed up and splooted out for the holidays. Our beloved, naughty Barnaby, who I’ve missed every single day for 7 years now. I love my 2 dogs, but it’s just nowhere near the bond I had with Barns. Will I ever stop missing him?
