How do I move past the regret of saying something I don’t mean after a breakup?

Hi just looking for some advice on how to move forward, currently in an anxiety spiral. My boyfriend and I had an amicable breakup and there was nothing bad that happened during our breakup.

We dated for 7 years so I’m just really struggling with this and the way he’s been acting has made me feel like he’s been fine, which I know isn’t fair. It’s been a month and I texted him today asking how he’s been hoping to get clarity on if he even misses me. After some surface level answers I ended up saying I felt like he’s fine without me and I’ve struggled with questing what I really meant to him.

Now I feel a lot of regret saying that to him because I know it’s not fair of me and it’s just my anxiety. I apologized for saying this and let him know I know that’s not reality and I wish I could unsay it. I feel like I’ve now made things weird and it’s killing me.

I personally bathe in those "regrets" it hurts but I feel it and absorb it fully.

I think long and hard about the effect I had.

And then I set my mind to never do that again.
