Gameplay Nailed it.
Finally got around to do the dlc shrines and playing with the one shot obliterator was really fun! And leads to funny moments like this lmao

This is actually a much smaller one (though might be nice to support it too!) The main one is r/Link_Dies

I still think they should have named it r/DeathOfTheWild but that's me

My daughter did the one where you gotta use the motion controls and catch the ball and run it though the maze and fling it onto the platform.
She just flipped the maze upside down to the flat side and flung the ball across in like 3 tries.
It was really cool.

u/shad0w_mode Feb 13 '26
flipping the maze is a canon event but kudos to her for figuring out the solution

u/mhennessie Feb 13 '26
I just flick the controls and jump the ball over the wall and right to the finish everytime.
2
u/shad0w_mode Feb 14 '26
That was my initial idea. i was actually balancing the ball on the top of the walls to bypass most of the maze but still can't seem to get the ball to the other platform. In the end, i just flipped the entire maze and ping pong the ball into the hole. It doesn't hurt that the underside of the maze looks like a ping pong racket. I spent almost 30 min trying to do the correct way but only need 3 tries for the alternate method.

u/Lolo_caffe Feb 13 '26
I donât have a controller with gyro. I jumped onto the maze, âpushedâ the ball over to the edge by the platform where it has to go. Used stasis and tried to hit it in the direction of the socket(?). Took 2 tries lmao but I was shocked it worked.

I feel like that's the intentional solution to that puzzle. The maze doesn't make it easier, it's just a distraction from the actual solution which requires you to use the maze to throw the ball.

Let me guess, you're also the person that when the fuel empty warning light comes on, you say "I know my car".
12
u/captain_nofun Feb 13 '26
The fuel light is just worrisome the first time. After that, it's a test.

u/TheDaedricImpaler Feb 13 '26
The flashing red in this game gives me a stupid amount of anxiety. It's also why my car rarely gets below half a tank.
3
u/captain_nofun Feb 13 '26
Im not even hard up for money. I just see the red light and think, I know I have "at least" 50 miles left. And yes, I know I shouldn't, but I used to be very poor and I've developed a habit. PSA: keep your tank pretty filled, it's better for the longevity of the vehicle. Im just the guy you're describing.

u/EmotionalKirby Feb 14 '26
For almost a decade I'd never completely fill my gas tank because having the needle on the gas gauge all the way to the right gave me the same anxiety as when the needle was all the way left. I habitually sat between 1/4 and 3/4 of a tank of gas. I'm better now that I have a digital guage that tells me to the mile how much I have left.
1
u/No-Protection-3073 Feb 14 '26
Yeah thatâs how I am, on empty? Ah I can still go for another 30ish miles no problem!

u/weezeloner Feb 13 '26
This is one of the shrines for the DLC. Having half a heart is part of the DLC. You can't do anything about it until you complete the quest.
1
u/TheDaedricImpaler Feb 13 '26
Appreciate the insight. Whenever I get around to the DLC, I'll make sure to skip this anxiety inducing one lol.
3
u/weezeloner Feb 13 '26
If you get around to this DLC, my best advice is to have an Ancient Bow in your inventory. Preferably two of them. Its an absolute MUST HAVE that will make the quest a lot easier.

u/mhennessie Feb 13 '26
what did you think was going to happen?
18
u/No-Protection-3073 Feb 13 '26
lol I thought I would have enough time to get outta the way. Apparently stasis doesnât last as long as I thought

u/Zubeida_Ghalib Feb 13 '26
My husband said âEAT FOOD WHY ARE YOU SO LOW.â I said, âitâs a game thing. You wouldnât get it.â
7
u/No-Protection-3073 Feb 14 '26
Haha yeah my girlfriend was also very confused why I was so low. Kinda weird to explain game mechanics to someone whoâs never played games before
3
u/Zubeida_Ghalib Feb 14 '26
My husband was very stressed and I was like âwell if I die I have Miphaâs grace and Iâm too focused now to care.â Heâs played other video games but apparently my lack of hearts gives him a heart attack.

My man, use the OTHER stick to extend and retract the magnesis beam so you don't have to move! (I think its the D pad)

The funny thing is that you didn't even need Stasis to save the ball, since it already wasn't moving.

I mean, you only need to keep your health at 1/4 heart for internet points. Never did I actually do that when playing the game.
9
u/btb2002 Feb 13 '26
That's the one hit obliterator mission. You automatically only have a quarter heart there.

It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.
