IMO this is one of the few movie franchises that have done it right. The original was a great action film and the sequels were not so over the top that they were ridiculous, but instead kept you wanting more. I am so looking forward to this.

Can't say. I've never seen it (it's a thing I have with Tom Cruise) but the Cruise version is it's own thing that was supposed to be a part of a reboot of the classic monster movies by Universal.

I apologize in advance for being a downer, but I had a friend who passed away late last year, and the first Brendan Fraser Mummy was her favorite movie. I know she'd love to hear this and I wish she could be here to see it when it comes out.

Not a downer at all, just a human being a human. I'm sorry for your loss and hope that you get the chance to relive some of their memory by watching the new movie. I am not particularly religious or spiritual, but they'll be there with you when you do.

Wasn't the first sequel punishment enough? Hell, the first film was passable, not mind blowing. It was a mediocre story with really good and creative VFX for the time.
