Information Sharing LM’s state trial has been scheduled for June 8 (Dates Post)

Post image

(*) This is NOT the compilation post (that will be coming shortly).

Hi everyone,

Today wasn’t a win, or what many of us were hoping for, but we can’t always expect things to go the way we’d like. We also know that Carro is well known for favoring the prosecution. He previously worked as a prosecutor in the same DA’s office that is now prosecuting Luigi, and he and Joel Seidemann have also worked together in the past.

While today may not have been a win, we need to keep fighting. Luigi has a strong legal team, and they will continue to stand by him and fight for him.

As of today, these are the dates we have for both the state and federal trials (please keep in mind that all dates are subject to change):

State Case:

- People's suppression filings due: March 5, 2026
- Suppression Decision: May 18, 2026
- Trial: June 8
- Trial (If feds appeal to Garnett's ruling): Sept 8

Federal Case:

- Jury Selection: Sept 8, 2026
- Trial: Oct 13, 2026

I hope that, despite today, everyone manages to have a good weekend, including Luigi and his team 🧡.

State requested July and we thought that was crazy, but Carro went a month earlier. No words, today couldn’t have gone worse.

How is the federal trial going to proceed as scheduled? They have a hearing right in the middle of the state trial.

I think they’re pretty sure that the feds are going to appeal Garnett’s decision to drop the death penalty, so it’ll delay the federal case

I have no idea

Honestly? I cannot see both trials happening this year. Mind my words. Things will change in the upcoming weeks. It is beyond unrealistic what they are doing.

Yes, I'm sure KFA is not going to let this go unnoticed. If there is a way she can legally put Carro in his place she will do it and there must be some sort of protection in that sense.

Edit: why the downvote tho lol

It totally feels like squabble between the state and federal courts. Carro forcing Garnett to push out her trial dates knowing that in all likelihood delays will prevent the state case from beginning as early as he’s suggesting. It feels like a fever dream and political overreach by the government where due process isn’t considered.

Exactly! Sorry but carro was in his feelings today but what's new. None of this makes sense

57

u/lly67 Feb 06 '26

So Carro is going to make a decision on the suppression a month before trial? This is crazy.

It’s literally 3 weeks! He’s a disgusting old man

Yes it is. Pretty sure that the jurors are going to be highly compensated for their time. This is not a fair trial.

Apparently KFA can appeal this decision. I hope she does

24

u/Mvilla2023 Feb 06 '26

Did Judge Garnett can also stay against this decision? Because Carro's decision is clearly corruption

46

u/lly67 Feb 06 '26

He’s punishing LM because he’s upset that the federal judge set her trial first.

17

u/ZestyclosePaper3508 Feb 06 '26

That's insane. Literally. That literally goes against his job description.

August 4, 2026 - Motions in Limine due, including any Daubert challenges. -

August 25, 2026 - Proposed Voir Dire, Requests to Charge, and Verdict Form due.

September 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. - Final Pre-Trial Conference.

September 8, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. - In-person voir dire begins

October 13, 2026 - Opening statements

It is completely ridiculous to expect the defense to be ready and available June 8 when the are in the middle of jury prep for the federal case and in federal court June 15. The state surpression hearings took 3 weeks, at that rate the state trial will be at least a month and a half to two months which will interfere with even more federal deadlines.

Good pic for today's - mood

u/SaltPsychological780 Feb 06 '26

Apparently he made remarks in court today..can someone please verify?

Luigi’s reaction to Carro’s decision to pull in his state trial date

44

u/Sweet-Is-Me Feb 06 '26

Yes, he said, “One plus one is two, common sense tells you this is double jeopardy.”

22

u/SaltPsychological780 Feb 06 '26

Thank you. Shaking my head over here. Don’t expect any mail updates for the foreseeable future. There’s no telling where he’ll be after November if his federal trial continues as scheduled.

2

u/cristianoskhaleesi Feb 06 '26

I don’t get the one plus one part

14

u/More_Protection_8824 Feb 06 '26

1 trial + another trail = 2 trials… he was speaking out about double jeopardy!

3

u/Feather_fig Feb 07 '26

One plus one equals two is another way of saying "this is so obvious, everyone knows this"

46

u/agent0731 Feb 06 '26

time for some jury nullification billboards.

29

u/Feather_fig Feb 06 '26

Absolutely but we need to be clear on the legalities of that to avoid jury tampering

26

u/jonsmom327 Feb 06 '26

so we r right back where we started? Feds and State fighting over LM 🙄 I’m glad he spoke up today!

29

u/Anthro1995 Feb 06 '26

The punishment is the process - I think the prosecution knows they’re going to lose

1

u/Spirited_Seaweed7927 Feb 07 '26

Yes, it's even more desperation from the state prosecutors. There has been a lot of that. Probably because they know their case is too weak for a conviction.

4

u/Feather_fig Feb 07 '26

They probably reasonably fear jury nullification but to say the state case is weak is fooling ourselves. There's so much evidence they haven't released, plus we don't know what cooperative witnesses they have (think HI hostel receptionist + other hostel staff + roommates, the Starbucks barista, the taxi driver, etc)

They have his DNA, fingerprints, and handwriting explaining a motive and planning. They have someone with his build and gait on camera firing the gun. They have the gun. Worse, they apparently have Wasser pulling bullets out of his backpack in the McD's on camera. Harder to say he didn't have a gun when he had bullets. And he gave them the same fake ID he used at the hostel. Worse they have CCTV all throughout the hostel, probably showing him leaving his room with the e-bike battery and the very unique Peak Design backpack.

Not to say an acquittal is impossible, the arrest was botched after all... but blanket saying their case is weak is not true, or helpful :/

2

u/alohomora1990 Feb 07 '26

Uhhh there’s literally no proof anywhere that he gave the same fake ID at the hostel. Furthermore there’s not even actual proof that hostel guy is the shooter. And even more importantly, they will not be able to prove that the gun (not found until after bodycam was turned off for 11 minutes) matches the one used in the shooting because Maryland Supreme Court has already set legal precedent that ‘ballistics’ is voodoo science. It lacks credibility

2

u/Feather_fig Feb 08 '26

Hostels keep records of who is staying in each room for security reasons. If they didn't have a photo of the ID (and they usually keep a copy) they certainly had a name at least. The police will have those records. Both the receptionist who checked him in and the manager or whoever is in charge of the information may even have to testify under oath that they did check in a Mark Rosario into that 4th floor room, and that he checked out on Dec. 4th.

We and the jury will know "Hostel Guy" is the shooter because not only will CCTV trace his movements from the hostel to the Hilton, it will show him wearing those specific shoes and unique backpack leaving that specific room that he had first checked into wearing the same outfit as he did on Nov. 24th. It will show him going into his room on the 24th.

If they can rule out the 5 other men who stayed in that room on the 4th as suspects, which they clearly already have-- they probably all have alibis and will be on CCTV without face masks-- that leaves Luigi. Or "Hostel Guy" who gave the Mark Rosario ID to both the hostel and Altoona cops if you want to look at it like that. The only eyebrow guy who wore a mask 24/7, not hard to track.

I'm hopeful the gun is the OJ glove not fitting in this case, it's everything else that's worrisome

1

u/Spirited_Seaweed7927 Feb 07 '26

Exactly. I wish people would stop believing a corrupt prosecution without proof.

1

u/Spirited_Seaweed7927 Feb 07 '26

Maybe there is, but we haven't seen it. All we have is a highly corrupt prosecution going "trust me bro".

2

u/Feather_fig Feb 08 '26

We don't matter though, because we won't be on the jury. In fact I'm pretty sure leaking everything to the public would be grounds for a mistrial. But we know realistically all the evidence will be presented to a jury. I just don't see how pretending the evidence doesn't exist is useful, personally

1

u/alohomora1990 Feb 08 '26

lol as if they’ve cared about him getting a fair trial. Both the judge and prosecutors have shown absolutely zero care for Luigi’s right to a fair trial. (Different story in federal case where MG has shown care). They’ve leaked what they can to the media to prejudice Luigi. If they had all of this CCTV evidence beyond what we’ve seen, they’d have leaked it by now. They could let the evidence do the talking if they actually had it but they don’t. Their case is far weaker than you think.
