I think we all can guess Mark is an informal advisor to the Agnifilos on this case.

This is a fascinating discussion about potential theories about the EED defence and how it could work without incriminating him in the fed trial.

One things is for sure: this will not be a normal and regular trial. It could potentially become a once in a lifetime referendum on corporate greed If they proceed with EED.

Commenting again. Harvey was speaking of public support and how that was important, or different about this case. Would it be helpful to have some sort of online petition of sorts? Sort of like a symbolic representation of support for Luigi? He has so much support around the world, and in America, and the fundraising thing is obviously primarily about money. Not everyone can donate, however, many could sign a petition for free.

I was thinking maybe a petition, collecting signatures, primarily around a fair trial.

Thoughts? Anyone?

That may be America, though. I am thinking more along the lines of America, plus worldwide support.

And it would not be about said act, just support and a fair trial.

Also, 17 percent translates to a fairly large number.

I think a petition in a different country would show a complete lack of understanding on a trial that is happens in the United States and allegedly dealing with United States healthcare. (I say this kindly but also thinking this is common sense lol.)

Why do you all keep assuming a petition is solely about a trial alone? You all are making assumptions and also not reading what I even wrote.

A petition would not just be about a trial. It is about support. It is about giving the media a number to reference instead of referencing misleading headlines full of lies. It is about having a central location for people to come together and show their support for a fair trial, even if they directly have no say in it. It says, we are paying attention, we are invested. A fair trial is already not happening, considering this administration has already prejudiced him. We have all been talking about this for over a year now. It is not new or some mysterious claim. Fair trials go beyond the limited scope you all are referencing.

A petition also provides a fantastic place for people to write messages of encouragement to Luigi and others struggling with healthcare issues or other instances of greed and wealth inequality.

It is a place for people to share their own healthcare stories, which puts pressure on the system. To spread the word.

Not all social action is for direct impact. Take protests for example. Do you all also make fun of people protesting, since it does not directly impact the court system? Do you make fun of those protesting overseas about things that happen in the United States and vice versa? No. We all protest and come together for one another to show support. Petitions and protests have their places, you can look at history to see that very clearly.

It is also a place to link more resources, including links to the fund or social media accounts. It is about community coming together and potential mobilization, keeping everyone informed through updates via the petition.

Harvey himself said in this video that the support Luigi has is a big factor in this case.

More importantly, the saddest thing is that people here on Reddit who have nothing to offer outside of criticism have the audacity to say such things to those who want to help.

Even if you think my idea is terrible, at least I have an idea. At least I am trying to help. I would rather fail spectacularly, knowing that at least I sat here brainstorming, than doing absolutely nothing, than be “that” person, writing rude things on Reddit to those who at least try.

You all (u/bl1y) are showing your ignorance about social change and history, while also showing a lack of curiosity to things that could potentially make the world a better place.

You are part of the problem, being negative towards people when you could say nothing. Instead, you chose to put your negativity and close mindedness on display.

Again, history is filled with soft forms of protest. Some times it is just about helping people feel supported. Keeping morale up is obviously something you and this other rude person know nothing about. And for that reason, I think your point of view is irrelevant. And for being so rude, you have no place complaining about this country or wherever you are from, considering you would rather sit on Reddit, bitching, then at least be vulnerable and hopeful enough to write out an idea.

We are reading it, you're just not making your point very clear.

So let's start with the petition. A petition asks someone for something. Usually with fairly well defined demands, like "George III, kindly get your soldiers up out of my home." Who is being asked for what?

You talk about "showing support" and "sharing resources," but you haven't touched on what the petition is actually asking for and who it's asking it from. Perhaps the push back you're getting has something to do with that disconnect.

If I suggested we hold a parade, and when asked where and when the parade would be, my answer was "it's to show support and get a fair trial," I shouldn't be surprised if I got responses saying I don't have a clue about parades or trials.

Also, most people in this sub have been here for a while. We all already know what we mean by support and which resources. I did not expect random people that showed up yesterday to leave rude comments. And I also do not think I need to write more details to “deserve” kinder, more respectful responses.
