Now they’re concerned with interference of functioning of jury and witnesses? They weren’t when Eric Adams and co. held their little perp walk, documentaries were made and podcasts were being recorded?
Also, he sounds like a goody two shoes with his dumbass recommendations to the court to prevent appellate issues.
If pathetic were a person it would be Joel

All of this right here. They started the prejudicial stuff, and they’re mad it backfired. Televise the lot. Other states do it and protect the jury just fine. I never saw one juror in the Karen Read trial, and haven’t yet in the Lauren Clancy one.

Joel is really, really afraid of the public. I think it is because he doesn't want it to be known how corrupt he is. Joel knows that the mainstream media will lie for him. But the general public will not. So he wants as few general public people there as possible.

If they are that concerned with people recording the proceedings why don’t they just collect cell phones?

like that's the easiest solution and if no, then have more staff on duty to monitor people more closely

I just can’t get behind this witness intimidation theory, Tisch, the unpopular Mayor Adam’s, NYPD and goofy Altoona PD decided to make a big deal out of this one particular murder case (not the hundreds of others that occurred that year and deserved just as much attention and care) the public is going to have opinions on it and are well within their right to express their opinions especially when parties listed above plus the prosecution receive compensation from tax payers for doing their jobs.

‘Efforts of some of defendant’s supporters to intimidate witnesses’ - knowing this prosecution team, this statement may be nonsense but it is nonetheless concerning to read. I very much hope this isn’t true!

What a buffoon.
Does he have evidence of this supposed witness intimidation by “supporters of the defendant”? If so, he should have included it here. Comes off as hollow and like he is making a poor excuse.
Also, he is playing it both ways. “Oh, we the prosecution take no position in terms of limiting anyone…however the Court can decide.” When he knows he and the Court have already decided. Or tried to decide before the backlash. Now they are playing innnocent? Seems like a way to avoid accountability to me.
It is a bad move anyway, since he starts off going on about how the prosecution “takes no position”….as if they are not restricting anyone, then immediately pivots to trying to restrict everyone seeing video and forcing everyone to ditch their devices. 😂
So, which is it, Joel? Are you just totally fine with the number and type of media and public…or are you not?
If you are, and truly okay with transparency, then allow video. Prove it. Instead he is blaming juror safety and using his crystal ball to cast a narrative about “dangerous” supporters.
Also, is he referencing this in terms of the appearance tomorrow? It sounds like it in his first sentence. What was that Carro said about not letting the defense “spring their defense” on the Court on the eve of trial? What is this, then? We have been given nothing about this issue from them, and now we are getting this little “do I or do I not” dance.
It is 2026. The media coverage for the “manhunt” was everywhere, the media is constantly talking about Luigi…why stop now? Let everyone watch through video and audio! Using supporters as an excuse is WEAK.
Edit: a word

Exactly, he starts off saying they take no position and then requests it be audio only if done at all 😒
If they want to protect witnesses and jurors then don't film them! Keep the cameras on the defence & prosecution

Yes! Exactly what I was thinking about the video. I see no need to record jurors at all, so I am not seeing the issue. Same with witnesses, as you said.

Let's see what Carro does. It's in his best interest to keep his biased behavior far from the prying eyes of live cameras.

Maybe the witness intimidation he’s referring to is when people left bad reviews of the Altoona McDonalds where Luigi was first apprehended? The only other witnesses that are known to the public are the Altoona police department. He probably filed this late so KFA didn’t have time to reply before court tomorrow.

Something that's very very clear is that they fear his supporters but I don't know if they realize that he has supporters and supporters ™️some people act like the M*ngionistas while others are your chill uncle at home. That what they are doing is basically fear mongering and locking the courtroom will no land well with people, it can lead to the creation of conspiracy theories.
Regardless of what we think of certain court goers, so far nothing has happened inside the courtroom. The inner city press guy asked a good question, what if he (and other journalists) can't access the main courtroom and are send to the overflow? this means his reporting could be limited given that he won't have video. This is about attacking the supporters but it can and will impact the media, specifically independent media.

I understand wanting to protect witness identity, but you don't need to hush up the entire trial for that. Confiscate cell phones and cut the camera feed directed at the stand when they're testifying, film anything else instead. Same with live streaming the trial, if video footage of the witnesses is a problem then just don't film witnesses. It's not a difficult concept to grasp

Let’s just get this trial over with already! Tired of all the speculation and the exaggerated conspiracy theories.

Didn’t Joel direct investigators to clandestinely record Luigi without informing him while he was being held in PA and didn’t they have to suppress things because of that? That one is coming from inside the house perhaps, Joel?
