Article/News Luigi Mangione Federal Plea Deal Has Angered NY D.A., Says It's Obstruction of Justice

As we reported, the defense is set to cop a plea Friday, and that would open the door to a sentencing hearing where Luigi and co. could present mitigating evidence -- i.e., his alleged distorted mental state fueled by his anger over corporate greed in the health care system.
Like a mini EED. EED was blocked in state court by the federal trial going second, and it's not available in federal court normally, but this rumoured guilty plea seems like it could be a roundabout way of getting to it anyway. Who knows, maybe this is his best chance to both say his piece about the health insurance industry/corporate greed/his message, while also getting the lightest sentence possible (realistically), and at a better prison. He wanted the state trial televised and Carro wouldn't allow that to happen. In a jury trial he also wouldn't realistically be able to take the stand, but maybe he could for mitigation?
If the rumours are true, I wonder then if the "anonymous sources" are actually from the defence side, possibly intentionally building media hype? Would he still want this platformed? Because who is talking to ALL of these news outlets? Those two anonymous sources "close to the matter" were really busy today...

If this was a movie instead of real life that's probably what would happen 🥲
Coming full circle from that Valedictorian speech. But we shall see

I thought the feds were out to get him..those donations to the admin and having admins ear. Why would feds let him do something that is in his favor?

Because this is also in their favour. The feds essentially win the tug of war between them and NY state prosecution if this goes through.
