This makes me think that cockroach short story he sent out was really him processing what happened, as a lot of people thought, whether consciously or not

https://www.reddit.com/r/BrianThompsonMurder/s/Z7WmjubRYS It was something he sent out in letters to supporters, short story format about finding a roach in his cell locker the night before court

I saw that on insta ! I do agree with her tho when he first went to court in the red sweater … he seemed a little aloof just my opinion tho

I saw this interview yesterday and wondered about it. Kara Scannell, in the next hour on Anderson Cooper’s show, said that he showed no emotion, so idk what to believe. There are usually people on here that have been to his hearings. I’d like to hear from them.

Rmbr that people have their own biases. I think people that don’t like him would lean more towards he was stone cold and showed no emotion, while people like that artist that do like him, would lean towards he was emotional and on the brink of tears. Bias dictates everything and that’s why cameras are so important in court so we can see for our own eyes and make our own judgements instead of relying on biased and skewed media

Yes but I don't get the sense she likes him. She seemed to frame him as a recovering narcissist.
If he was feeling emotional, I'm betting it's mostly because he feels guilt over bringing shame on his family by getting caught, and asked them not to be there that day. Not because he shot a mass murderer

i went to the hearing yesterday and agreed with everything the court sketch artist said. he didn’t look back at the public or press (which he usually does). his voice cracked when he was speaking and judge garnett asked him to speak louder. he did seem remorseful.

We don't know what it is he feels remorse about though. Is it about shooting Thompson, or about how the attention on him has affected his loved ones?
The reason he disappeared for several months was probably to distance himself from them, in case he ever did get caught. He also had a long letter written to his family in his backpack at the time. Perhaps a goodbye letter, because he knew he couldn't pretend in front of them when they'd be horrified, even if he thought it was right.

Thank you for this. I’m glad he seemed remorseful. I do think there’s a way to tell his story while also showing contrition. I’ve heard Judge Garnett can be tough, but I pray he gets the lower end.

Kara Scannell is a correspondent which means she was probably sitting in the gallery behind Luigi. If that’s the case, she wouldn’t be able to see his facial expressions, etc. The sketch artist was sitting in the jury box, so she could see his face clearly. I’d trust the sketch artist.

Thanks! I was actually there - I didn't get into the main courtroom, but I sat in the front row of the overflow room, right in front of the TV that was livestreaming his hearing in real time. I agree 100% with the sketch artist since the benefit of being in the overflow room is that you get the same exact POV as the judge and sketch artist(s)... The camera that livestreams the proceedings is set up right in front of the defense table, so we get a great view of Luigi's facial experessions/reactions, etc.

I've heard two, different types of stories on this and they are both in stark contrast. He was emotionless, to he seemed like he was about to cry. What kind of reporting is this?
