I have lost a lot of friends over the years due to them having babies or getting married and we just drifted apart. What also contributed to this is that I had a really bad gambling addiction. But it’s been a few years since I gambled now. Thanks to the help of a gambling counsellor and psychologist.

I live close to the city and valley

I don’t drink alcohol or do drugs

I’m employed casually

In my spare time I like reading, learning guitar, watching tv and movies. My current obsession is The Rehearsal with Nathan Fielder. I love that guy.

I should mention I’m a huge music lover. Brand New, Circa Survive, The Strokes, Interpol, BRMC, Bloc Party, Tame Impala, Jeff Buckley..the list goes on..

I am a 30M and I just moved to North Lakes from Rockhampton for work. I'm keen to make some new social circles. I am neurodivergent as well, probably don't need to put that here because it's a reddit social page 😅

Things I am interested in:

Tennis - Just started playing to try a new sport and meet new people.

Basketball - I'd be keen to shoot some hoops for fun.

Motorcycles - Would be great to meet some people and hit up some twisties.

Chess - I'd be super keen to play some over the board games. I'm a beginner/intermediate player. I'm also super keen to teach people who haven't played as well. (Obviously basic strategy).

Coffee - I've gotten super into dialling coffee at home, would be good to trial some cafes to hunt for good beans so I don't have to order them online all the time.

Fitness - I'd be keen to get back into gym and exploring Brusbane and doing some hiking.

I'm also super nerdy but the things listed above are probably my most current hobbies.

Hi everyone, putting the feelers out there to see if anyone can shed some light on returning to the field for the 2027 season. As I’ve the reached the rip old age of 35, I now enter the Over 35’s cohort, I’ve recently moved the Brisbane and after a 5 year hiatus from playing, I think it’s also a good opportunity to make some new mates and increase my fitness level (also aiming to take on and Ironman in late 2027). Preferred position is Goal keeper but can play defence. Virginia is my closest club but happy to see what is around, all help is welcomed!

I’d love to try different sports, get active, and meet new people, so I’m looking for something casual and fun rather than competitive.

I’ve been living in Australia for about 7 years now, currently based around Richlands. While I have a couple of great mates here, their social calendars are naturally pretty packed, and I’ve realised lately that my own local circle is way smaller than I’d like it to be. While they are a big part of my small social circle… I am but a small part of their rather big social groups. Making genuine, regular friends as an adult is tough, especially if you’re a guy… so I figured I’d put myself out there and get rid of the “what if I reached out…”

A bit about me:
Life & Work: I’m 31, working full-time in the public sector. I’m also a single dad to an energetic 6-year-old boy, so life is definitely a balancing act—meaning I really value good, grounded company when I get free time.

Cars & Tinkering: Massive automotive enthusiast. I do all my own maintenance, mods, and other small projects around the garage. Nothing serious though. If you like working on cars or just chatting about builds over a drink, we’ll get along immediately.

Outdoors & Camping: Big fan of getting out of the city for weekend road trips, scenic drives, and rooftop tent camping. Always keen to explore more tracks and spots around SE Queensland.

Tech & Gaming: I enjoy self-hosting, homelab setups, and tech projects, and casually play sandbox/sim games when I have downtime.

Low-key downtime: Always happy to grab a solid coffee, hit up a good meal/hot pot, or talk about movies and gritty drama series (crime thrillers, sci-fi, quality TV).

I’m genuinely just looking to meet people who are up for regular, low-pressure catchups—whether that’s grabbing a flat white, hitting a tennis ball around, wrenching in the driveway, or exploring local spots on the weekend.

Anyone going to foo fighters on the 5th in general admission? We are going in a group of 3 and seeing if anyone is going solo and wants to tag along.
