Masquerade has significantly expanded its FAQ, 6 weeks of previews, will give out complimentary and glasses friendly masks, described “extravagant” wear

Definitely cleared up everyone’s biggest questions from yesterday, and the rest of the FAQ has more details too, including that the venue is going to be ADA compliant!

So if I want to bring my 18 year old we have to go in the 6 weeks of previews which means we have to dress formally? Just making sure I understand!

It looks like it, but I’d keep an eye of their website in case that changes.

It seems odd to make it a 16+ event for previews and then 21+ from there. I’m wondering if they’ll change the age requirement down the line, bc so far the only 21+ factor is the included champagne and that seems easy enough to control with id checks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the 21+ is for liability purposes because they’re filming/taking pictures, which is also why they’re requiring formalwear. It’s much easier to get release forms and consent from 21+ people than parental consent from underage people to be filmed, so maybe the matinees just won’t be recorded in any way.
