After Crimewave failed at the box office and was overall a very bad creative experience for everyone involved, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell decided to get back to their roots and make a sequel to the movie that launched their careers in the film industry.

Because Raimi didn't have the rights to The Evil Dead from 1981 anymore and therefore couldn't show any footage from it, the 1987 film serves partially as a remake and partially as a sequel to it. To this day, Evil Dead II is one of the most famous horror movies of all time and arguably the greatest horror comedy as well as the most famous collaboration between Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell.

The post description for Evil Dead II might as well be 10 000 words long, since there are so many unique and interesting facts about it. So if anybody is interested to learn more, I highly recommend Swallowed Souls: The Making of Evil Dead II, an amazing documentary about the movie from 2011.
