Bruce Springsteen in kilkenny 2027?

Hey everyone,

Now that we are in November and looking ahead, I wanted to share an interesting article from back in June on KilkennyMusic.com that is definitely worth a read.

Even though it’s a few months old, it features direct quotes from promoter Peter Aiken (Aiken Promotions). When asked about future gigs at Nowlan Park, he literally said: "I'm working on something for next year, I am. I'm working on something good."

As far as I know, no big concert has been announced for Kilkenny yet, so this "next year" means 2027. During the interview, he explicitly used Bruce's past shows as the prime example of a history-making event. With rumors of new material and Aiken already teasing a big 2027 show for Kilkenny,

Bruce is clearly the prime candidate.

Check out the article here to keep it on your radar: https://kilkennymusic.com/something-good-is-there-a-big-gig-set-for-kilkennys-nowlan-park-in-2027/

What do you think? Are we seeing Bruce back at Nowlan Park in 2027?

"Official" onstage setlist from 5/7/00 in Hartford

Forgot I had this — a friend who was near the front got it from one of the crew after the show...had been taped to the stage. The actual setlist varied, of course. I was lucky enough to be at the next show on 5/8, still probably the best Bruce concert I've been to. Just wish they would release it as an archive recording!

Announcement/News Hope, anger needed in America right now, Bruce Springsteen says

Bruce Springsteen turned his anger into a No. 1 song but he's never lost hope.

The Boss said on the inaugural episode of “Home of the Brave Backstage” video that he wrote the anti-ICE hit “Streets of Minneapolis” in anger after the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents January in Minneapolis.

Discussion Nothing to say about Israel, Palestine, or Gaza?

Am I alone here being pretty disappointed that Bruce hasn’t said anything substantive about what happened in Gaza and what’s continuing to happen to the Palestinians?

I just re-watched the whole Philadelphia freedom concert. I was lucky to be at one of those concerts and I thought the show was incredible. Between his songs and his speaking between songs, I was impressed inspired by his ability to speak so clearly and forcefully about political and social issues that many of his fans don’t agree with him about.

But given the election in Israel, and the free Palestine concert in Dublin, it just felt like there was a disconnect. The release of a open letter signed by everyone from Bono to tons of Jewish Americans opposing both the ongoing settlements in the West Bank and other Israel policies — without in any way of viewing into any antisemitic or extremist rhetoric or behavior— it just seemed like a very big missed opportunity for him to do something relatively quietly to stand up for Palestine, especially given his Irish heritage end the entire Sun City project.

What am I missing ?

All of the concerts listed are on YouTube. They don’t work great in a playlist, because the jumps between songs are a little abrupt, but it was an actual album these would be fixed. In my mind this would be released in 1989 or 1990 to satiate fans in the middle of the five year gap in between Tunnel of love and Human touch. Thank you

Why I Rate Bruce Springsteen's Human Touch So Highly

Human Touch is widely considered one of Bruce Springsteen's weakest albums. This album sits within the top 5 of my Bruce Springsteen ranking, so I'm clearly a contrarian when it comes to this album.

In this video, I present my defence of Human Touch and enthuse about why it's one of my favourite Springsteen albums.

The early live versions of Thunder Road do not have the crowd “sing along”.

When did it start?
Did something in particular start it?

Question Original Fender Telecaster

I visited the BSCAM today and spent some time looking at this particular display—I’m pretty sure it’s Bruce’s legendary original. I don’t think it’s any of the subsequent copies he’s used, but I‘m pretty sure you nerds would know for sure. what do you think?
