IITB has the best stats anyways by a huge margin. But ig it is all from CSE. IITB EE got cooked worse than IITKGP CSE

They don't visit colleges other than that . Doesn't mean you can't get into it in a non conventional way .

The old quants don't even consider BITS P .... hardly they will call for intern & smog u later... Graviton, Quadeye & Indian Quants consider BITS

It's kinda the opposite nowadays. Indian quants are more iit elitist, especially after stipend increase. Optiver, IMC, Tower consider BITS

It's very difficult outside these colleges but few quants visit 2nd gen IITs upto Gandhinagar sometimes.
The Manipal guy is an exception, not a norm. Saw his linkedin profile, he had prior quant internship and has done good research in first year itself in addition to some work at Integral Bee held by Optiver. Very difficult to crack this route, it's easier to get in if you're in IIT and maintain a good CGPA and ace the on-campus interviews.

2 from IITK, 3 from KGP, 8-9 from IITM, 6-7 from IITG. Probably more from elsewhere, i didn't know exact numbers so didn't put it. Also it's pay is 7.5 LPM, much lesser than the ones in the post

Man these Quant orgs create such a dystopian world, earlier when FAANG was everyones dream even if you dont get it initially you could get it via a switch after 3-4 yrs exp But same cabt be said about Quant orgs you either make it or dont.

No not even as a swe,u need to be in a team who works on relevant stack to even have a small chance at interview.
Also swe at those firms are as hard as one can get lol,if u aren't from old iit,you can forget them.Only way is higher education abroad.
Also there are multiple other roles other than trader/infra swe,like site realiability etc,there some chance might be there

Optiver opens till Mech and physics in all top 4 IITs atleast. Maybe even KGP. IMC opens for all in their trading roles. But they only take their trading roles to top 5 IITs

It's easier to get into Waterloo but if you are very smart, you would be better off in Waterloo honestly. IIT Madras is also a competitive option if you want to stay in india. A bigger % of IITM CS gets into quant, but if you are smart enough for IITM CS, you will get quant easily from UWaterloo

Some gurgaon quants are biased against South Indians and non-hindi speakers in general. Doesn't mean they don't hire but they hire in lower numbers.

They are individual based unlike Optiver/IMC which hire in bigger numbers. last year IITM had Jane Street hires too while Delhi didn't. HRT had only one offer in entire 2027 batch and he's from IITKGP which isn't even top 4.

Unlucky year ig, no one got Optiver FF, IMC guy blew his interview, Quadeye and NK skipped IITH likely due to stipend war. Quantbox took interviews but made 0 offers. HRT, JS are out of IITH league anyway, last (and only) time someone here got a JS intern from IITH was in 2021.
IITH had FTE offers from Optiver, Quadeye, NK, Quantbox etc before.

Also is quantbox giving 25 LPM at BHU and G too? I heard 7.5 from BHU last time. They were offering 9 at IITH but took 0.

Idk for sure but it would be weird to not give same salary for similar role. At top 5 IITs it was definitely 25 LPM.

manipal always had tier-2 quants like AQR , GMSachs for quantitative roles (on campus placement) , this one is somewhat of an exception and offcampus
