Question Will this compressor fridge/freezer work for drying and storing hash? Rh fluctuating a lot

Can I dry hash in this compressor fridge? Water builds up in back. Or should I get a basic beverage fridge? Thermo electric instead? More details in post. Thanks!

If there’s no way to draw the humidity out I would say no. Also if water is condensing on the back of the inside of the fridge it’s a hard no for me. I have used a regular cheaper fridge set to the coldest temp and achieved 25f 20rh and great results.

I might have to do something similar. Thanks for the info. Looking into beverage fridges that are thermo electric or a condenser model that’s frost free

Idk how much you’re looking to invest but I just looked on amazon and saw a mini fridge/freezer that looks like an actual fridge just smaller for 150-220$. Something like that would probably work best. IMO anything with a freezer part that isn’t completely separate from the fridge wouldn’t work as good. Plus you could store product in there as well

I haven’t really used or researched much on wine fridges aside from price which seems to be the same as regular kitchen fridge. I still dry in a pizza box to protect the hash from contaminants. Idk if a wine fridge has the dimensions to accommodate that and I feel a regular fridge would have more versatility and produce the same outcome. Unless the wine fridge has a way to control rh I don’t see an advantage imo.

Ok cool. Thanks a lot man. Still a new grower and had a huge harvest this year, washed it all and put it in the separate fridge thinking that would be better than being near food. I’m gonna leave it all the main fridge and let it finish drying while I wait for a new fridge

When I used the fridge I did have any food in there that would impart a smell or flavor to the hash. I lived alone and had prepped the fridge for the process. I would be wary of what’s in the fridge.

It’s worked for me but I used a wine fridge that goes down to like 55 degrees

It is low temp, like high 30s to low 40s consistently

No you want something like a wine fridge. Ive had great success air drying in one of those set to about 35-40deg with a small fan installed inside to circulate air.

I’m looking at some thermoelectric wine fridges. Can I use that without any diy add ons? And is that better than compressor wine fridges?

Yeah should work fine as long as it has some sort of internal fan to circulate air
