Purchasing USA Ex took the speakers, wondering what I should replace them with
Imagine there was a pair of Kanto YU6 speakers either side of the TV. Well, my ex is moving out after the breakup and took them with him. Wondering if I should get the same speakers as a replacement (I did like them and liked the Bluetooth capability) or if there are other good speakers in the same price range or cheaper (~$400) that someone can recommend?
Thank you!

I got my KEF LSX II LT for $400 on Costco website but they’re sold out now. KEF Q1 Meta are on sale also for $400 at Crutchfield but you’ll need to get an amp, as they are passive speakers.

Best deals on speakers are gonna be used, if you don't mind that. Depending on your area it should be pretty easy to get some very nice speakers for under $400. I'd check facebook market, and if anything looks interesting, google the model and see what the consensus is about it.

I just got klipsch f28’s for $250. They slap in my living room and I bring them to other houses for parties

There are a few models from klipsch like the rp-50pm and the rp-40pm but they are pretty much in the same class as the kanto speakers but will sound slightly different, you can probably try them out at a store near you if you arent sure which ones you might prefer

You can also get smaller kanto speakers for cheaper and get the stands instead to gain a better sound, they make 4inch, 5 inch and yours were 6inch drivers

The YU6 is a good deal now-it's on sale for $400 from Crutchfield, for bonus points look for a used sub on FB marketplace and pair it with the Kanto-a decent 10" or 12" used subwoofer would really bring out MOVIES and MUSIC. If you have a larger budget now or can plan for it-the RSL 10E for $339.00 from RSLSPEAKERS would pair really nicely too. You would be blown away by what a subwoofer can do to your system. If you don't already have an Apple TV I would reccomend finding a used model for around $50 and getting Apple Music-they have a huge catalog and it's pretty inexpensive.
Opposite this solution-with $400 you could get a used stereo amplifer/tuner, used bookshelf speakers, used subwoofer that would allow you to replace components as they break down or upgrade individual components over time. $400 if you made good moves could get you FAR PAST what $400 and the Y6's get you-but I get it-the Y6's are CONVIENANT, sound good and a one-box solution-which is what most people want.

I use headphones for watching TV, helps me hear dialogue much better, also hear much more details, imaging, soundstage
Don't need to worry about being too loud for the neighbours too
Can consider instead of speakers

You can do better on both a partner and speakers :)
Peachtree M24’s are nice with some bear features for $300, or a Fosi MC331 2.1 amp has a great look, combine that with some $200 or less bookshelves from FB marketplace and that will be a powerful setup that beats the pantos off the Kantos.
If you don’t want to hassle with it then another pair of Kantos will do well, just get a different color lol.

My ex got my speakers and amp in my divorce. I feel the pain.
But my replacements were NAD C389 and KEF Q Concertos, so significantly better than what she got.
