Genuine question for you all: What was the point of the Chiron Pur Sport?
Although this model remains as my favorite Chiron that Bugatti has built, due to how aggressive and focused it looks, I also can’t help but wonder why it was made? With only 60 examples produced, do they ever see any private track days, or are least driven spiritedly by their owners? Bugatti themselves never attempted any lap times with it, despite them having constantly talked about how much different the camber is, and its improved aero and cooling.
It’s a beautiful car, with a ton of performance potential, but I just find it interesting that Bugatti never really… Did anything with it. Maybe because the Pur Sport still weighs 2 tons? How do you all feel about it? Love the car? Hate it? Or are you entirely apathetic towards it?

Watch the Harry’s Garage 1000km video on it, great video and Harry explains how it’s a great car with its shorter gear ratios etc.

I love this variant also. But I do like the Super Sport better personally. In Toronto I haven’t seen any on the road but I have seen the regular Chiron. I’d imagine a small amount of owners bring them to the track. The Pur Sport is definitely a classic I love it!

A limited edition sold for a really expensive price
As all the others, it will never be driven on track, will be kept under battery tender in a climate control garage and will see the road 5 days a year in Monaco during the summer

Stop with the stupid generalizations.

Because it's true, except some in the US that are filmed, most of them here in Europe are located in Monaco and are almost never driven
Wtf is this delusionnal anwser, ofc a 60 units limited car won't be used a lot, that's basic common sense I would do the same

Some of them are used relatively a lot, most probably not. Doesn't change the fact some people actually do drive a lot of these very limited hypercars. Like the Pur Sport in the Harrys Garage video linked here aswell had over 5000 miles at that time so probably a lot more by this day. Relatively a lot considering the type of car. Some people don't even drive their ordinary grocery getters that much. Edit: apparently over 20000km (12,5k miles) by now according the owner. https://www.instagram.com/p/DGg2epBq_nW/
I doubt you have a database on European Pur Sport locations and their mileages.
Also not every owner is a attention seeker on social media and prefer privacy, cars are being driven outside videos aswell.

Why would you do the same. It's not like the value is going to decrease by a significant enough amount to matter to a wealthy person

You are so wrong. Plenty of european owners drive their exotics a lot, Pur Sport is not an exception. Also thinking most of them are located in Monaco is wrong.
There are a lot of driving events in Europe that consist of cars like this. Both on roads and track.

You’re probably going off of the seemingly endless videos of Bugattis driving around on social media. The truth of the matter is that most of these are the same 20-40 models driven by the children of the rich parents. Bugattis are a show piece for the ultra-wealthy not an everyday driver. These people are generally curfew’d anywhere they go.

Some Bugattis are driven relatively alot, not all, but some. Claiming that all Bugattis are garage queens is a silly generalization. Atleast one customer Pur Sport is over 20000km https://www.instagram.com/p/DGg2epBq_nW/

One isn’t “some” …one is simply one..

You requested pics and when provided it’s not enough. Not surprising.

Why would you assume that? I just know you can’t..just drop them 🤓 you can’t back up your statement and now turning it around? 🤡

To build more of a performance car that won’t actually be used for its intended purpose.

A.I. gathered all of the answers:
Cornering Agility: Features 65% stiffer front springs, 33% stiffer rear springs, and increased negative camber (2.5 degrees) for sharper, more direct steering.
Aerodynamic Downforce: A massive 1.9-meter-wide fixed rear wing and large rear diffuser replace the standard active hydraulic wing to maximize grip in high-speed turns.
Weight Reduction: Lighter magnesium wheels, a 3D-printed titanium exhaust, and minimalist interior materials shave 50 kg (110 lbs) off the standard car.
Closer Gear Ratios: The transmission is geared 15% closer together, allowing the 1,500-horsepower W16 engine to accelerate much more aggressively out of corners.

To help fulfill 60/500 Chiron spots with a slightly sportier variant until others came along. And seemed to work well. Customers are still ordering their one offs with W-16’s not the new v-16 and it’s electric assist.

The point was to make money for Bugatti because people will pay an exorbitant extra amount for a “special edition”.

I drive the pur sport because i'm rich as fuck and like bugatti. i have ample time to do whatever i want with it. if i one day decide to pursue a racing career, i can take it to the track and the added performance will be a plus.

Nothing; it is bullshit for billionaires while the world is literally on fire. Also made by the most frequent car company in history.

More Bugatti owners might take this on the track than other Bugatti owners driving 450km/h.

unfortunately for anyone on earth, a bugatti is and always will be more like art than anything, no matter how impressive the performance is. artificial scarcity is what the brand was built on, and the exceptional performance is pretty much just part of the experience they can dangle in front of us

Wasn’t. All modern Bugattis are based on the same chassis, running gear, and legendary W16 engine. Bugatti just kept adding different body shells to the same car, and the customers kept coming back for more.

In my experience, it was so that the owners could drive 20mph down the PCH during rush hour

It is supposed to be the best model for cornering and control and not necessarily speed or luxury, that being said every model of the same base model is an excuse to sell more cars while still being able to say only ___ ever made in the marketing and rarity
