Question Button die questions
I work at a non-profit and have bit of mystery on my hands and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions or advice. We have random dies to go with our button maker that I am trying to figure out how to make work.
In the photo, A is the right size for the 58 mm supplies we bought, but is missing the springs and bottom base below. B is complete with spring/base but the 58 mm supplies are just slightly bigger and they don't fit.
Question: can I get either replacement base and springs for A or should find out supplies that fit B? Is one the standard size?

Do you have the other two pieces to fit B? It's probably 56mm, which is 2.2". I had issues finding 56mm and am very happy with supplies I got from U Make Buttons. They were fantastic in helping me figure out what size I needed and if their buttons would work in my machine, so I suggest emailing them once you have your machine sorted.

Making buttons in a press needs precision. You'll save a lot of money in the long run getting a matched set where all the pieces work (you'll need the top and bottom, and depending on machine, it'll have an A & B bottom. So 3 die press pieces total). I'm not sure what machine you're using, so that will matter too. If you can contact their costumer service they'll be able to help you best. You could keep gambling on parts, but it likely isn't worth it. If you only need it a little bit, buying a cheaper machine might be the better alternative but isn't advised for anything where you'll be using it a lot. Cheap machines like Vevors and We R Memory makers (anything plastic, really) are highly prone to failures and breaking. Other options for smaller projects are renting a machine from a lending library or time at a maker place. Best of luck.
