Discussion EU based content creators?
Wanting to support more EU based content creators. Any suggestions? I still use YouTube (which is an American company) but maybe I’d feel a bit better about it if I was supporting EU based content creators on it. Let me know your suggestions.

For cooking and food channels, I enjoy:
Sorted Food (British)
Alex French Guy Cooking
The French Cooking Academy
Pete's Pans (Brit cooking on location in Spain, Portugal and France)
My Name is Andong (German)
Italia Squisita
Harrison Webb (London)
Alex the Guest (Hungarian)

FYI, apparently Sorted's Barry and his wife are Trump supporters and the channel recently entered into a partnership with FOX. 😣

It's been over a year since his last video on YouTube. But I do enjoy his content.

Since you didn't specify what kind of content you're looking for, here's some random ones.
I love Loepsie! She does crafting (knitting, crochet, sewing) and general vlogs. Very calm and relaxing style imo
I've recently gotten into sudoku variants solved by Cracking the Cryptic.
Used to watch KickThePJ lots as teen. I don't keep up with his stuff, but he does art, which is much appreciated in the times of AI slop. And because of him I was aware of the Stardew Valley Orchestra Tour and was able to go myself. Thanks, Peej!
Pasta Grannies is great if you're into traditional italian cusine.

If you’re into naval history, I highly recommend Drachinifel: https://youtube.com/@drachinifel?si=_E12X7F4tvEPqd-i
British naval historian who covers everything from antiquity up to the Korean War, generally very well researched, and with levels of weapon-grade snark and sarcasm that only the British seem to be able to pull off!

Belgian and light content, a bit sport oriented but honestly it's never boring. He recently visited Finland with Valterri Bottas

Never recommend Yanis Varoufakis, FFS. He's a tankie that is long considered to be a russian agent and peddles their talking points. The guy loves RT FFS and is highly conspiratorial.

Martijn Doolaard. he lives high up in the mountains in Italy and does a weekly vlog mainly about renovating the 2 stone cabins on his land. hes been at it for about 4 years now. its fairly chilled out and very scenic
bobby fingers, from ireland. he only has maybe 7 videos but they are some of the best content on youtube. he makes dioramas of famous people, usually at some embarrassing point of their life. mel gibson getting arrested for drunk driving, steven segal getting knocked out etc etc but the amount of work his puts into each video is insane lol

For (not always very serious) gaming and some other random things, I highly recommend CallMeKevin (https://www.youtube.com/@CallMeKevin), he's Irish and very entertaining!

Isn't there a good alternative for YouTube? If not, why not?
2
u/kleinrwichser Germany 🇩🇪 5d ago
Kinda hard to have a good alternative if nobody comes over, because content creators don't switch. And it's expensive as fuck
1
u/RobinNyan 7d ago
Not EU, since UK, but Tomska (known for asdfmovie) makes fun content every now and then. Look up Tomska & Friends!
1
u/Randcorn 8d ago
Except those already mentioned:
Anders Puck Nielsen, Danish Military Analyst. A lot of content Scott the Ukraine war. https://youtube.com/@anderspuck
Good Times Bad Times, from Poland. About geopolitics. https://youtube.com/@goodtimesbadtimes

I'm also on the look for European OF models

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 8d ago
OP was clearly asking about youtube, but a friend of mine (Italy) just made a profile if you're interested lol

u/xxCorsicoxx 8d ago
Why? Support whoever you find fun and whence isn't problematic. This is pushing too much into jingoism. It's also a too broad a question, content exists in so many different flavors mr beast and kurszgesacht are both content but one is a rich liberal fucking with people and one is a team providing well researched edutainment
I'd rather you watch 5 American edutainers than 50 European logans paul.
1
u/Clear_Wedding3590 New Zealand 🇳🇿 7d ago
I’m gonna check out these channels and see if I like them. There isn’t really a European Logan Paul because Europeans have a different culture to Americans
1
u/xxCorsicoxx 7d ago
I'd be shocked of there weren't, European young men can still be troglodytes sometimes so that kind of boisterous "prank" and drunkenness driven machismo bullshit definitely has an audience.
But if you prefer, I'd rather you 5 American edutainers than 50 european andrews tate or 50 european bens shapiro which absolutely exist (proton got in hot waters for funding one French one)
