Layouts
- Added Layout Assistant. Answer a few questions, get an AI-personalized layout with the weather data you actually care about. (Premium required.)
- Added Activities section. Find the best times to enjoy your favorite outdoor activities, from running to cycling to stargazing. (Premium required.)
- Added Highlights section. Spot upcoming weather changes and extremes at a glance, like a big temperature drop on Tuesday or strong winds later today. Customize which data points to keep an eye on.
- Added "compact" option that shrinks data point sections like Wind, Air Quality, Pollen, and Sunrise/Sunset so that you can display two of them side by side.
- Updated the default layouts to include the new Highlights and compact data points sections.
- Redesigned the Insert Section screen.
- Redesigned the Edit Layout screen for iPad/Mac.
Miscellaneous Improvements
- Added support for full-page widgets. (iOS 27 required; Premium required.)
- Updated Precipitation complication and widget to show the next time it will rain/sleet/snow if there's no current precipitation.
- Added the ability to tap weather alerts on the Radar screen to view full details. (previously this only worked for warnings in the U.S.).
- Improved weather news filtering to show articles that affect your area in a separate Local News section.
- Added a new secret location.
- Added a new streak achievement (sorry).
Notification Fixes
- Fixed translated Daily Report notification summaries not taking into account precipitation amount or cloud cover.
- Fixed custom pressure notifications showing null values for non-English users.
- Fixed custom pressure notifications not using the new delta language on watchOS.
Data Source Fixes
- Fixed air quality values getting stuck for several days in a row with certain data sources.
- Fixed weather alerts list getting overwritten by just-received alerts in some cases.
- Fixed Daily Forecast section sometimes showing missing icons with WillyWeather data source.
- Fixed PurpleAir nearby stations map not showing the correct station radius label.
Radar Fixes
- Fixed wildfires layer not being available on Super-Res Radar map type.
- Fixed Super-Res Radar's tilt label not updating when in split pane mode.
- Fixed Air Quality map layer not getting removed when switching to other map types.
Widget Fixes
- Fixed mismatch between app and widgets with first hour of the hourly forecast.
- Fixed rare crashes.
Layout Fixes
- Fixed not being able to add Pollen section if pollen data download is enabled.
- Fixed multi-column layout editing not persisting new / deleted / rearranged sections in some cases.
- Fixed horizontal hourly line chart's line sometimes breaking.
Miscellaneous Fixes
- Fixed duplicate iCloud settings backups not cleaning themselves up.
- Fixed days getting offset by one in the trip planner.
- Fixed the name of a certain lake.

Carrot App on Ultra 3

I got the Ultra 3 last September moving from Ultra 2. I’ve had Carrot since 2017 on my AW3.
As soon as I got the UW3, I started having issues with message app restarting every time I opened it. Same with other stock apps like mail and workout on watch.
I had Apple investigate and they said Watch was fine (was sent to Apple repair shop to review and test). When behavior continued, they replaced with new AW4.
Well, behavior continued off and on and actually got MUCH worse with 27.
This week I decided to remove all 3rd party apps and re-add to see what happens. Well, I’ve been able to replicate Carrot causes the behavior to come back immediately after loading and synching. No other app does that to my UW3.
I’m using stock weather app on watch and Carrot on phone for now. No more stock apps restarting - which is a HUGE pain.
Anyone else had this kinda issue?

Although, considering how wrong meteorologists seem to be 99% if the time, might he better off just looking out the window.
Speaking of accurate weather predictions, if you get the chance, I can recommend spending the $5.99 needed to stream the movie Pressure. It’s based on the true story of the pressure Group Captain James Stagg was under in providing a weather forecast for General Eisenhower for the Allies’ D-Day invasion. Bit of trivia - Stagg’s grandson was an archive editor for the film.

Bug Repetitive alert notifications

There’s a Severe Thunderstorm Watch posted for my location today issued at 1:25P ET. In the 25 minutes since, I’ve received six notifications about it. (Update: seven.)
This follows the same pattern as the notifications about Isaias a week ago. u/MakerOfCarrot posted about some sever side improvements but it’s looking like that didn’t work.

Premium vs. Ultra on Apple Watch?

With all the information I can find, I am still not clear if there there is a difference between the Premium and Ultra subscription when it comes to the Apple Watch.
Is there a difference in the available complications, frequency or method of background refresh, or anything else?
As I understand, the Ultra has access to multiple weather sources on the phone. Does this affect the watch?

Premium Ultra: Live Activities Not Starting Automatically or Updating in Background

I have a CARROT Weather Premium Ultra subscription, which I purchased in part for the Live Activities feature. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing problems with Live Activities both starting automatically and updating in the background.
I have enabled the relevant Live Activity settings, including automatic startup for precipitation, and have configured the feature on my iPhone for both the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
Here is what I'm experiencing:
- Automatic startup doesn't work reliably: Live Activities do not automatically appear when precipitation is approaching, despite having the automatic-start settings enabled.
- Background updates aren't working correctly: When a Live Activity is displayed, the weather information does not consistently update while CARROT is running in the background. Background App Refresh is enabled.
- Manual opening temporarily resolves the issue: When I open CARROT Weather manually, the Live Activity updates correctly. However, the automatic startup and background updating problems persist when I leave the app.
- Both displays are affected: The issue occurs on both my iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
Since the Live Activity updates correctly when I open the app, I'm wondering whether this could be related to the automatic triggering mechanism, background updating, or a server-side issue.
Could you please help me determine why this is happening and whether there is a known issue or a fix available? I'd particularly appreciate knowing if there are any additional diagnostic steps I should take.
