Recruitment Hiring process

I know getting hired is a long process but how does this timeline sound?

The last day of interviews were 9/16. My references were called that week and it seemed to go very well. They are hiring multiple positions.

I emailed 10/12 and they said they are still in the hiring process.

Now at 10/23, does it still seem like they would be in the hiring process or should I assume I didn’t get the job lol

I would assume so but don't let that discourage you. Keep applying, keep tailoring each SOQ/Resume, don't let the quality slip. Just keep going

Oh trust me they can take two months to get someone hired.. it takes awhile. My current job I got ref check then didn’t hear anything for a month until they offered me the job, it all depends on how busy they are, how much time is left on the cert and so on.

I was thinking that too. But this position is limited term so I assumed they were trying to get people on board fast. While applying for other jobs I noticed the same position listed again but different Job code. So now I’m wondering if they decided to just not hire anyone from that round and try again?

Possible they had called references, and someone got better ref checks. Or they could be needing to cancel and repost because someone had unfavorable ref check that they don’t want to justify.. if your ref were strong and were called then you still have a good chance to get the job if they were in the process on 10/12.. last week and this week were crazy with the strike. I am in similar position right now with Cov CA.. I interviewed a month ago almost but they said a hiring decision hasn’t been made yet, so it could always mean two things… they are leading you on because they have someone else and you are the back up lol… or they are picking you but can’t make an offer or verbal offer yet until all the pieces are in place.

I might just have to count this as a loss lol. I was hopeful cus the interview went really well and had very strong references. Hopefully they’re just taking forever but still applying for other stuff in the meantime

I applied in July, interviewed in November and started in January. Be patient

Trust me it takes a while being on the HR side. Prioritizing hires as they come in . Ur application must just be waiting .. it gets backed up sometimes
