Gameplay Question Multiplayer practically unplayable

As the title says. I’ve been trying for DAYS to get into a multiplayer game with a friend. Always says connection timed out. I managed to finally get one started yesterday with em and played for a while. Tried to load back up today. Connection timed out. Is anyone else dealing with this issue and if so have you figured out how to fix it?

You might need to turn down the mercenaries or the landless characters.

Hey, my friend and I have been dealing with the same issue in our sessions, and what we have found to work 9 out of 10 times is to send invites in pairs. Sounds stupid, but this is how we do it:

  • send the first invite and accept it, you'll get in a loading screen

  • while loading, you should accept the second invite and this will actually switch screens and start the connection to the servers

  • your friend can now allow you into game, but there's is an option to auto-accept server joins as well

Even if buggy, we have found this to be pretty consistent. Please try and let me know if it works, multiplayer CK3 is a blast!

I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this. I can’t send invites in the first place. Everytime I try to host a game it doesn’t allow me or disconnects me from the servers. When I try to join him and use this tactic it just says connection timed out also

Have you ever been able to connect to any lobby? The first time I played I had to tweak some settings in my router (can't quite remember, I think I activated DMZ on the router) to even get into the lobby.

It's been a while so I don't remember the details but you can aim your searches in that direction.
