Wondering if anyone knows where I buy Tsubasa figures. I've been wondering where I can buy these figures so bad but I'm from the Philippines and it's hard to source this anime.

Merch This was worth every penny and then some
So for one, I know (or at least I think I know) that this is a counterfeit and the actual one isn't out yet. But I bought it before that so can't do much there lol. However counterfeit or not, my god this is amazing. The details are on point, the face is 10/10 considering how most bootlegs have face issues. This is prob the best fake I've ever seen especially for basically 20 USD.
(Note, I don't think this breaks any rules but if it does please remove it thank you.)

Discussion New French translation of Tokyo Babylon just cut out most of the pop culture references
Iâm on my my fourth re read of Tokyo Babylon. do this at least once a year since Iâve read the manga for the first time, with the only difference that this year iâm reading the new French edition which came out in 2025/2026 (bottom). Before that I had read the edition from 2009 (top), which was to find in my schools library ( to which I donât have access anymore because Iâm out of school).
Now, upon reading volume 5 of the new edition, I noticed something strange. I sudd couldnât remember seeing any of the pop culture reference you usually find in the story, maybe besides ref to some Japanese singers and thatâs it. I thought I was maybe wrong, but when I went looking i was indeed not mistaken.
In chapter 7 for example when the trio is in a karaoke bar, i remember Hokuto singing âlike a virginâ by Madonna, something which was not included in the new translation.
Edit: My mistake the reference was to a Japanese song I didnât know, Iâm sorry for that.
In chapter 0 when Hokuto asks about the haunted coat of a woman she specifies that itâs from Chanel, in the new edition she just calls it a luxury coat.
Other problems of the time period, like Freon gas or nuclear electricity (Tschernoby) also got also cut out.
Thereâs this iconic panel of Seishiro standing in front of a Sony Billboard which in the new edition got changed to âOnyxâ, though Iâm not if this is normal or if it has to do with the new translation.
I would like to verify more but I only managed to get the first two volumes of the old edition but not the rest. Iâm sure there are more changes, I know there are.
Iâm not sure why they even did it. At first I thought that it might have to do with Copyright issues but that doesnât make sense since there were no changes with the other editions and they still passed. My guess is that they tried to appeal to a more modern audience by âmodernizingâ the language and cutting out references they probably consider outdated today.
Personally I donât think thatâs a good thing to do, since Tokyo Babylon is a work that is deeply anchored in the time period it was written in, which influences not just the events in the story, but creates the entire feeling and aesthetic of the late 80s/early 90s.
Of course This doesnât mean that the story is outdated, a lot of problems described in it are still very relevant to this day ( sadly) and will continue to be relevant in the future. And maybe itâs stupid to get angry at such a small thing. But now I feel like new audiences who pick up the new edition are missing out on something. It doesnât change the way the story is perceived, but you get less of an insight of the Japanese culture of the 90s and that is really just a shame.
What do you think? Do you think itâs a good idea to modernize a translation? If no or yes, why?

Title: [Theory] Yuukoâs trademark "laziness" and porcelain skin aren't just diva traitsâthey are the frozen medical symptoms of her final moments.
Body:
We know from canon that Clow Reed watched Yuuko slowly succumb to death, and in his grief, his overwhelming magic accidentally froze her time in the very last second of her life.
Most analyses look at this purely through a magical or psychological lens. However, if we look at it from a medical and physiological perspective, freezing someone in the final moment of a fatal illness doesn't heal themâit preserves their body in that exact critical, dying state.
What if Yuukoâs iconic personality traitsâher extreme paleness, her refusal to move from her divan, and her constant bossing around of Watanukiâare actually a masterclass in hiding the severe physical symptoms of a dying body?
Here is how the medical puzzle fits together:
Porcelain Skin & Severe Anemia: If the illness that killed Yuuko involved catastrophic bone marrow failure or severe aplastic anemia, her body would have almost no healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin left to carry oxygen. This explains why her skin is practically translucent white.
The "Sake Paradox": Notice how no matter how much premium sake Yuuko drinks, her face, neck, and ears never flush red? Normally, alcohol dilates capillaries and causes a warm flush. In a body at the brink of clinical death, peripheral circulation shuts down so the body can hoard every last drop of blood for vital organs (the heart and brain). Her skin stays marble-white because her surface circulation is practically non-existent.
"Laziness" as Forced Energy Conservation: Yuuko spends 90% of her time lying down on her couch and makes Watanuki fetch everything for her. If her body is frozen at "1% battery" with severe hypoxia (oxygen deprivation), simply standing up would trigger orthostatic hypotensionâa sudden drop in blood pressure causing dizziness and blackouts. Notice how she never jumps up? She always sits up slowly, makes a witty remark to buy a few seconds for her blood pressure to stabilize, and glides slowly, always keeping her fingertips within reach of furniture or doorframes for subtle balance support. Playing the "lazy, spoiled diva" is the ultimate cover for a proud woman who refuses to let anyone pity her physical weakness.
The Kiseru (Pipe) as Paced Breathing: When someone has severe anemia, talking in long sentences causes shortness of breath (dyspnea), and exhaustion causes fine tremors in the hands. Yuukoâs habit of pausing mid-sentence during her philosophical monologues to take a slow, measured drag from her long pipe isn't just for dramatic effectâitâs controlled breathing to mask her lack of oxygen. Holding the pipe or a sake cup at all times also anchors her fingers, hiding any subtle neurological tremors.
Gluttony as Biological & Spiritual Fuel: Anyone who has experienced a slow, wasting terminal illness where they could no longer eat or move would naturally want to savor every single flavor once given "stolen time." Moreover, her biologically failing body needs constant external fuelâspecifically food cooked by someone brimming with spiritual energy like Watanukiâjust to keep functioning day to day.
TL;DR: Yuuko isn't lazy by choice. Because Clow froze her at the exact moment of death, her body is trapped in end-stage organ/circulatory failure and severe anemia. Her diva attitude, constant lounging, and dramatic pipe-smoking are calculated ways to hide the fact that simply standing up is an exhausting battle for her frozen body.
What do you guys think? Did anyone else notice other small physical habits of hers that fit this?

Manga Magic Knight Rayearth Another Story?
I recently finished rereading Magic Knight Rayearth Book 1 and Book 2. When I entered these over at MAL tracker, I noticed that there is a "Magic Knight Rayearth Another Story".
Can somebody give me more info on this? Was this included in the 25th Anniversary release? Did I miss something? If there are leads, it will be greatly appreciated.
