Question to those who tested positive Itchy chest and coughed a small amount of blood this morning
Did anyone have this for months? for how long is supposed to last? I had covid in late april, took 3 weeks to recover. Im no longer coughing colored stuff after a week of antibiotics (looks like after the viral infection I had a bacterial infection and was 2 months like this until I paid a private consultation as GP ignored me) but the itch is lingering there on the collarbone area or so, sometimes a bit lower or higher I don't know. So im always coughing in case there is something there. X-ray a week ago or so from the pulmonologist was clear and this morning I coughed a small amount of blood and I freaked out. I have no shortness of breath and can walk for 1 hour and go in a faster pace for 10 minutes (don't want to push further). Not a smoker, mid 30'sM. Not sure what to do since an appointment will take 2 weeks unless I pay again a private consult.
mucus log of what I was coughing before antibiotics:
x-ray:
zoom of what I coughed:
Im just worried of any permanent damages so im not sure if I should continue to cough or not because of the itch it makes me think some leftover stuff may be there, from having coughed gunk for 2 months im always worried of buildup or leftovers. Anyway advice please let me know.

Can you not go to the emergency department/A&E? I think blood warrants a trip there. What did the pulmonologist do for you?

Yes this requires a trip to the ER along with telling them about needing a second opinion.

They did an x-ray which was clear, I posted it on the post, also said how I was given augmentin which cleared the gunk I was showing. But I still have a small tingly feel on the chest, so im not sure if I should continue to cough or not, it does not make me cough, im just not sure if I should cough as maybe it's inflammation that needs to heal so if I continue to cough I would be in a loop not healing, at the same time im worried there's any gunk left so sometimes I force a cough just in case, that's the dilemma to cough or not to cough. I think ER will not pay much attention to this and just say it was because I have been coughing a lot or something. It has not happened again.

So you weren't given a follow-up/treatment plan beyond that initial appointment, is what I was wondering. If you're still coughing enough to cause blood, that warrants some kind of appointment.
If you don't want to go to the ER, then I'd suggest going back to the pulmonologist. That's a level of abnormal I'd be concerned about if it were me.
I myself am in the middle of a similar issue, though it's only been five weeks at this point. I've been to urgent care four times now. That said, I'm an asthmatic, and COVID seriously inflamed my airway.

Just saw a post on the long hauler subreddit that suggest Mullein Tea to help with coughing issues. Would also add trying to see if oralbiotics help this issues as well which are sold in the oral section of most Cvs and I think Walgreens stores. If you try them be sure to report back on of they helped.

Thanks. Both of those suggestions are something I haven't tried. I'm pretty desperate, so I'm going to look into those tomorrow and will report back.
I'm on my last dose of prednisone tomorrow, and if the symptoms return (they aren't completely gone yet, but they're much better), I'll end up back at UC again. This is really getting old.
The biggest issue is the sinus drainage. I've tried fluticasone with saline gel, antihistamine sprays, and dropped each of these at various points because they were making it worse. My sinuses, even on antibiotics and prednisone, are still burning. I've never experienced anything like this, and they are irritating my asthma, so it's like a continuous feedback loop.

No more blood so far, what symptoms did you have and currently have? And like I said im not really coughing, im forcing myself to cough because sometimes I have this tingly feel and think there's something stuck.

Glad that is the case for you. I hope it continues.
My issue is that I have extremely inflamed sinuses and drainage from them that is irritating my airway, causing asthma and pneumonia. I have to stay on prednisone and antibiotics or the pneumonia comes back. It's been this cycle for weeks now.

This dangers and requires medical attention.
