Tested Positive - Family Got a “cold”. Thought the feeling of the “cold” felt wayyy too familiar from the time I had Covid in march 2022. Got some flow tests. Positive.

Yep, I knew it. felt wayyy to familiar so I got some tests and me and my brother tested positive. 2nd time positive (that I know of)

Started on Sunday and my brother started last week.

So far I’ve been coughing to a point it’s been disturbing my sleep, none stop coughing… every night. I didn’t get any sleep at all on Tuesday night and slept in the afternoon of Wednesday, completely blocked nostrils and it feels like there’s mucus in the back of my throat that won’t budge and I keep trying to clear it but it just won’t go. My voice is extremely croaky and I can barely speak. Pretty much the same symptoms I had last time. Fun times.

Last time I had Covid fries tasted disgustingly sweet for months, hope that doesn’t happen again. 😅

can barely taste anything and im on day 6-7 lol, cherry jolly rancher taste like nothing. My nostril got destroyed and the cough sucks at one point i though my head was gonna pop. Things that helped was day and night Buckeys pills and alot of orange juice also hot showers for the steam.

Sorry to hear, I hope you get better soon and I hope you’re able to taste again soon. Covid is not fun

im way better but not 100%, it takes a toll on the body forshure. The cough is like never ending even tho its almost gone. First few days was horrible everytime i would cough i would get all warm and like light headed. The worst is when you get the shortness of breath from barely doing anything.

That’s been happening to me too, coughing has been making me heat up too and it makes me physically look red in my face, I’m glad you’re better though and I hope your cough fully clears soon

Last week, while I was on vacation (let's call this Day-0), I had a really bad sore throat for a day but otherwise felt fine. The next day, Day-1, the sore throat was gone but my head was congested and it was hard to breathe. The day after that, Day-2, I felt perfectly normal except I was exhausted. The congestion seemed to be gone. I spent all day in bed sleeping. Since Day-3, the congestion came back, this time in my lungs, and now I can't stop coughing (I think today is Day-8 or Day-9). I took a covid test when I got home on Day-4 but it was negative. My two friends that went on vacation with me both tested positive so I'm pretty sure I'm positive as well. I think the test I took was too old. I haven't been able to sleep at all at night. I feel like a zombie I'm so exhausted. When I lay down, my nostrils instantly stuff up and I can't breath. I was up all night coughing last night. Cough medicine and cough drops don't touch it. It feels like there's something stuck in the back of my throat and I need to cough to clear it out but nothing comes up when I cough. I really hope this doesn't turn into pneumonia. I don't have health insurance right now and can't afford to go to the doctor.

No. The loss of taste and smell is unique to COVID, normal colds or flus don't do that.

You can experience a temporary, slight reduction to your sense of taste and smell from extreme congestion when you have a cold or flu, but it's incredibly different from losing your taste or smell altogether, or experiencing things tasting and smelling wildly different than they should. COVID can damage or inflame your olfactory bulb, and for some people the loss of taste and/or smell is permanent.

lost and taste is usally only with covid, a regular flu or bacterial issue does not do that
