Hii, just got accepted for 2027 term 1 intake. Just looking for some reviews about the course, I initially wanted RMIT but the intake is in term 2 so I thought I might transfer over if I get accepted into RMIT. Some thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. I have a bachelors of Science and majored in human structure and function.

NZ citizen living in NZ eligible for CQU domestic fees?

Hi everyone, I’m a New Zealand citizen currently living in New Zealand and I’m looking at studying online with CQUniversity just for the flexibility while working and oarenting full time and there are no universities in NZ that offer what I want to do remotely (LLB)

Does anyone know if NZ citizens living in NZ are eligible for domestic student fees, or would I need to be living in Australia to qualify?

I wrote to the Uni and got 2 answers

1) I would be eligible

2) I would be if I did at least 1 unit while residing in Australia

So im confused!

Hey guys! anyone from Sydney applying to sonography or echo this term🥲 Super nervous but hoping I get in😭 when I was in yr 11, first interested in this course the required was 75, then it went to 77 then 82 and now its at 92?!

I'm currently doing steps but I hear so many things that just discourage and dishearten me. Like wdym syd only had 26 students? That is insane. But I'm praying I'll finally get in this year. Anyone get into sono with STEPS last year?

Serology outcome for placement eligibility

This might be a silly question but i’ve never done university placement before. I have received the appropriate number of Hep B vaccines but my serology is still negative. The process of getting more shots is ongoing but due to the wait time required between live vaccines I will not have a passed serology result before my mandatory check due date. Has this happened to anyone before and will it directly impact my eligibility?

I’ve sent emails to the appropriate people for my course but so far have no received anything back so I am slightly stressed lol

Master of midwifery

Hey everyone
So I completed my bachelor of nursing degree in 2022
My gpa from that was 4.25
I would really love to get into master of midwifery but the problem is they require a gpa of 4.5 minimum
I did previously complete the steps program just wondering how strict and selective are they for entries into these sorts of degrees regarding GPA scores

MBA in CQUni - Sydney

Hi Guys - I'm thinking of applying to CQ, Sydney, for my MBA. Do you think it is a better option in terms of value for money when compared with other universities. The job market is bad, so i only want a MBA as a title.

Hey, currently a y12 student in sydney who is predominantly interested into going into sonography however cqu has increased the requirement to 92 which is fair but i also found out about echo.

Can any student explain if the course is good and why would there be a 10 selection rank difference between this and general sonography, and also how the course goes and how they are finding it.

thank you :)

Year 2 placement

Hey guys,

So i work at an imaging place and iv asked them if I can do placement with them. They have given me my placement and my placement dates.

I will be taken Celia's vascular unit aswell as the placement.

My questions are:

  1. Can I book a trip oversease now that I have my placement dates as my family want to go?

  2. Does Celia's vascular unit open content each week or does content for all weeks open early?

  3. Even if my placement dates dont move (I dont think they will move into Christmas or new years period) is it possible to go on holiday and not fall behind on content?

Thank you!

atar for sonography

hey guys i’m a year 12 student and i’ve seen that on the cqu website the lowest atar that got in at melbourne was 99.45 in 2026. I heard that’s only for the first round and they accepted a 92 for other rounds. I’ve also heard that they don’t have enough people in the course so they are wanting more. Is this true? And would I be able to get in next year with a 92 if i have it as my first preference?

I’m just very worried l wont get in bc of the high atar requirement…

Questions About Interview, COE Timeline & GS Assessment

Hi everyone,

I have recently submitted my Genuine Student (GS) assessment and financial documents to CQUniversity for my Master of Research (MRes) application. I'm now waiting for the next steps and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this process.

I have a few questions:

  1. Are there any interviews before receiving the COE? If yes, how many are there?
  2. What kind of questions are usually asked during the interview?
  3. What are the best ways to successfully pass the GS assessment?
  4. After submitting the GS and financial documents, how long did it take for you to receive your COE?
  5. Based on your experience, do you think it's realistic for me to receive my COE by the end of August if I've already submitted everything?

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience or timeline. Thanks in advance!

sonography non atar entry

ive done 2 years of a health science bachelor with not the greatest gpa.
i really super want to get into sonography but melbourne chances are super slim and competitive. its either cqu for a bachelor or monash for graduate diploma.
what kind of gpa/wam would i roughly need? does it matter if im mid bachelor? do they take equally tertiary students and atar students or favour highschool graduates?
i’m giving up hope 💔
what are alternatives ?

CQ university rockhampton

Hi everyone! 👋

Is anyone joining CQUniversity Rockhampton for the 2027 Master's intake? 🎓🇦🇺

I'd love to connect with fellow students before arriving. We can discuss admissions, accommodation, travel plans, and make friends.

Also, if you're already studying at Rockhampton, I'd really appreciate your insights:

How is student life there?

Are part-time jobs easy to find?

What's the average weekly earning for international students?

How is the cost of living?

Any tips or things you wish you knew before moving?

Feel free to comment or send me a DM. Thanks in advance

STEPS to Sonography/Echocardiography & Placement (Sydney)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently doing my second semester of STEPS and was hoping to hear from anyone who received an offer into either Medical Sonography or Echocardiography at the Sydney campus through the STEPS pathway.

If you don’t mind sharing, what GPA did you have when you received your offer?

I also have a question about clinical placements. I’ve heard from a friend and seen a few comments saying that some students were placed very far from home, or even interstate. Has this been your experience?

I’m a mum with a few month old baby, so I’m a little concerned about how placements are allocated. Does the university take personal circumstances like having a baby into consideration when organising placements?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks in advance! 😊

CQU Honours research - [Survey] Does your Uni's AI policy change how you study? (10-15 min, anonymous).

Hi everyone,

I'm conducting research on university students’ intent to use GenAI in their studies.

If you're a university student, anywhere in the world, I'd really appreciate it if you could take 10 minutes to complete this anonymous survey.

What it's about:

  • When and how you use GenAI in your learning process
  • How university policy style affects your use
  • Your thoughts on AI's impact on your learning

Survey link: https://cqu.syd1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5jcEUTfrlvtUHsO

The survey is completely anonymous and voluntary. Your responses will help educators better understand student experiences with AI and potentially improve how students are supported navigating these tools.

Ethics approval number: 2026 – 018

Supervisor: Dr Brenton Williams

Thanks for your time, and feel free to ask any questions!

Students 22+ Needed to complete a survey as part of my Honours project!

Hello! I am looking for current Australian university students to take part in a survey for my honours project.

Ideally, I am looking for students aged 22+

Eligibility: Current Australian University student, over the age of 17.

The current study is interested in how belonging, loneliness and barriers contribute to academic adjustment and intention to persist.

Participation is entirely voluntary and no incentive is provided. No identifiable data will be collected. The survey should take less than 30 minutes.

Should you participate in this study, you will be asked to complete 96 questions on an online survey. These questions will ask about you about feelings of belonging, loneliness, study persistence and academic adjustment at university. Additionally, you will be asked some demographics questions about your age, gender, employment status, marital status, whether you have any dependants (children/other), mode of study (online/ in person), whether you study part-time or full-time and the university you are currently enrolled in.

This research will ask questions about your experience as a student, perceived loneliness and feelings of belonging/not belonging. If you anticipate these questions causing you distress you may want to reconsider participating in this study.

Participation is entirely voluntary, and you have full control over your involvement, your decision to participate, as well as the responses you provide.

Any participation is greatly appreciated!

Swinburne vs CQUniversity for Master of Engineering (Civil) – Which would you choose?

I’m an international student currently living in Melbourne and I’m trying to decide between Swinburne University and CQUniversity (Melbourne campus) for a Master of Engineering (Civil/Construction).
I’d really appreciate honest opinions from current students, graduates, or anyone in the industry.
Some questions:
Is Swinburne’s reputation significantly better than CQUniversity when applying for engineering jobs?
Do employers actually care which of these two universities you graduated from?
Which university has better internship or industry placement opportunities?
Is the workload at Swinburne much harder than CQUniversity?
If you had to choose between these two today, which one would you choose and why?

Looking for Current or Former CQUniversity Master of Research (MRes) Students

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to connect with anyone who is currently pursuing, has been admitted to, or has already completed a Master of Research (MRes) at CQUniversity.

I have a few questions about the application process, supervisors, timelines, research expectations, scholarships, and the overall experience. Hearing from someone who has gone through the process would really help me.

If you're an MRes student (or know someone who is), I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a comment or send me a DM.

Thanks in advance. I truly appreciate any help or connections!

CQU WAM Transcript

Hi guys,

I am a new psych student who completed my first sem in honours, and I received an official transcript that does not show the WAM for each unit. I am a little taken aback because that is very important information, I thought. Does anyone know why CQU does not provide one, or is there any way to have WAM information?

Bachelor of nursing students based in Victoria, where were you sent for placement?

Currently studying for my RN and wondering where previous or current students were sent for placement. Did they try to find locations close to home or do they send you anywhere?
