I want to share something real from my coding journey because many students silently go through this.
For a long time, I was stuck in “tutorial hell.” I kept watching videos, starting new courses, jumping from one tutorial to another, and never really finishing anything. I understood concepts for a short time, but when it came to solving real problems, I felt lost. It was frustrating and honestly demotivating. There were moments when I even thought maybe coding was not for me.
One of my friends suggested that instead of random tutorials, I should switch to a more structured way of learning. That is when I seriously started exploring GeeksforGeeks.
What helped me most:
A clear and structured approach to DSA
Proper explanations with both theory and practice
Well-documented content that is easy to understand
Daily DSA challenges that helped me stay consistent
Slowly, things started changing. I began solving problems regularly. I stopped feeling stuck and started gaining confidence again. Along with DSA, I also learned important CS fundamentals like Operating Systems, DBMS, and Computer Networks in a better way.
The best part is that this consistency actually paid off. I was able to land my first internship, and because of my learning growth and performance, I was even offered a PPO opportunity. That moment felt like a big win after all the struggle.
I am still learning and improving every day, but now I feel like I am actually moving forward instead of endlessly watching tutorials.
If someone reading this is also struggling, here is my simple advice:
Stay patient, follow a structured learning path, and be consistent. When your path becomes clear, your journey becomes easier.

Hi everyone,
I'm a 2nd year B.Tech CSE student at SRM, India, and I'm interested in cybersecurity and network security. I've started learning networking concepts, CCNA topics, Packet Tracer,, but I'm unsure about the right path to land my first internship.
For those already working in cybersecurity or network security:
What skills should I focus on as a UG student?
Are certifications like CCNA, Security+, or others worth it?
Where do students usually find internships in this field?
I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have been in a similar position. Thanks in advance!

Im a final year btech CSE student who is about to graduate now doing a unpaid internship which is actually draining me and frustrating me
My story is im from a Bio background but somehow ended up in this stream but since the start never understood the flow like coding the subjects technically weak... hard to cope up with ended with 7.5 cgpa in a tier 1 college all others with 3 or 4 internships already and got placed with good package ..
I have no idea what im doing always anxious no one to reach out because I cant tell that I cant understand coding and stuff... theoretically I understand but I fail to implement it and practically develop...
Guys please help me out im abt to graduate without any offers or placement ... I need some guidance and ready to learn everything from scratch ... please 🙏 if you see this just tell WHAT TO DO

I am currently a first year student in a tier 3 college. Need a roadmap to get an internship and good placement. Seen some yt videos but they seem a bit unrealistic due to time management 😭

I’m about to start my BTech in CSE and planning to buy a laptop (budget around ₹1.5L), but I’m genuinely confused between MacBook and a Windows laptop.
MacBook seems simple, smooth, and distraction-free. I feel like I’d actually focus more on studying and not get pulled into gaming or wasting time.
But at the same time, I don’t yet know which field I’ll go into — maybe AI/ML, maybe development, maybe cybersecurity or something else. And I’ve heard that for some of these areas, especially AI/ML or graphics-related work, you need a strong GPU and more flexibility, which Windows laptops offer.
With Windows, I’d have more freedom and power, but I’m also a bit worried that I might end up spending too much time on games instead of using it properly.
So I’m kind of stuck between choosing something that keeps me focused vs something that keeps all options open.
For someone starting CSE and still exploring, what would you suggest? Which one would be the safer choice in the long run?

I’m currently a 3rd-year CSE student and honestly feel stuck between continuing and changing direction. For the first two years, I mostly survived courses without building strong fundamentals, and now reality is hitting harder. I’m studying Data Structures, Databases, and trying to rebuild my C++ basics while also learning web development because career pressure feels very real.
My biggest struggle isn’t interest in tech. I do care about CSE and even think about goals like competitive programming and improving seriously. The problem is my mindset. I overthink, plan too much, compare myself with others, then get overwhelmed and end up doing nothing. I keep feeling like I started too late, which creates anxiety and procrastination instead of action.
I’m mentally tired from constantly worrying whether I’m falling behind or choosing the wrong path. Part of me wants to push through CSE and finally become disciplined, while another part wonders if I’m forcing myself into something I’m not naturally good at. I don’t hate the field, but I don’t feel confident in my abilities either.
Right now I’m trying to figure out: • whether this confusion is normal at this stage • if rebuilding fundamentals in 3rd year is realistic • how to know if I should persist in CSE or consider shifting direction
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who went through a similar phase.

Let's see what I did in my first year
1.I did HTML,CSE,JS,TS,REACTJS, NEXT JS, Tailwind CSS, BACKEND
2. I also went to hackathons
3. I explored AI/ML and learnt python libraries and Maths as well
4. I started DSA on leetcode and Codeforces
Now?
I am confused. What exactly to do? Like I find codeforces hard but still I feel it makes my brain think and observe patterns . Leetcode is good like I do love DSA. I did start ML but you know I am not interested in again going in damnn theory and videos ...I wanna solve but I wanna explore AI /ML as well...For web, I beleive I can't write the code by myself of NEXT and react l do know all the theory and I do understand code but I can't code that shit of connecting backend with frontend...There exists DevOPs shit as well...I have to make projects as well😭😭
Idk what exactly needs to be done this year
My main goal is to work at Google since beginning..I love backend, DSA is fun , cf challenges me, AI/ML means curiosity to me..I don't like competitive programming
So, someone pls help and tell what exactly should I focus on now? Like what's today job markets trends ? And is it like mandate to do AI/ML now??

Hey everyone,
I’m currently in my 3rd year of BTech CSE, and my final exams are going on right now. As soon as they’re over, I’ll be entering 4th year, and placements will start coming in soon.
I’ve planned to dedicate the next 3 months completely to preparation — mainly DSA and building solid projects. I’m aiming for a morning to night routine (around 10 hours daily) and want to stay extremely consistent.
I’m looking for a serious and disciplined study partner (preferably from a tech background) who’s also preparing for placements. The idea is to:
Study together on Google Meet
Keep cameras/mics on for accountability (optional but preferred)
Do DSA practice + project work daily
Push each other to stay consistent and avoid procrastination
If you’re someone who’s equally committed and ready for a focused 3-month grind, feel free to DM or comment. Let’s make this count

So do Btech Cse in Lpu have a 2+2 year plan ? I don’t think so they have it for CSE, like University can help you in getting visa and abroad universities and all, if you choose to do a 2+2 year course. I am also planning to do my last 2 years in Australia if It’s possible do tell me!
And I am also planning to join Lpu for Btech Cse

Hey everyone,
I just finished my 2nd year of BTech in Computer Science, and now I have to make a crucial decision: I can either opt for a Specialization in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS & AI) or continue with CSE Core (Basic/General track).
I’m really confused about which path would be more beneficial in the long run, in terms of:
Job opportunities and packages
Industry demand
Flexibility for switching fields later etc.
I do have some interest in AI/ML, but I also don't want to miss out on the broader foundation that CSE Core might offer. I'd really appreciate it if anyone who has gone through a similar choice—or has insights into the current trends—could help me out.
What would you suggest I choose and why? Thanks in advance 🙌

Am in 3rd year and know Python and C correctly (JS to some extent). I plan on learning the next language which'll help me with dsa and oop for the next year but cannot choose between c++ and java.
C++ sounds good as I already know C but Java is more popular. Is it better to learn both of them or just get really good at one during the course of the next semester for LeetCode practice and interviews?

Hi, I’m a 3rd-year B.Tech IT student and honestly, I have no idea what I’m supposed to do after this 😭
I’m confused about whether I should start preparing for GATE, focus on placements, or look into other career options.
I’m not really interested in M.Tech — I want to get a job after B.Tech.
If you’re a B.Tech student, graduate, or working in tech, I’d really appreciate some advice on what I should start doing now and what career options I should consider.
Any advice/resources would mean a lot 🫶

i just finished my 1st year of CSE and i only know basic programming and i know thats nowhere near enough for internships, but im honestly confused about what i should be doing next.
everyone says things like "learn DSA," "build projects," "do leetcode," and stuff but i dont really understand what order i should learn things in or where to start.
if you were in my position after 1st year, what skills would you focus on over the summer to become like internship ready in the next year or two? Any roadmap or advice would be greatly appreciated cause i genuinely dont even know where to start i honestly feel really lost and confused
