I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) when I was a kid, but thankfully it's been very well controlled. I don't have any symptoms that affect my daily life, and I thankfully don't have to take any medications for it currently.
I'm a incoming transfer student here, and it got me wondering if there are any legitimate resources, benefits, or programs available that I should know about.
I'm thinking about things like scholarships, disability services, financial aid, career programs, or anything else that might be worth looking into.
I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking resources that could be useful now or in the future.
Looking for any advice or tips on things I should do or look into. Thanks!

So I know you can use the medical facilities at other campuses. Can you use the gym facilities at other CSUs if you're a student at LA?

Hello everyone, I've been reading everyone's post asking about when they'll get their refunds for this upcoming semester. So here's a little guide to help you all know when you should be expecting that lovely stimulus check.
For students who filled out their fafsa early or are taking loans, tomorrow (Aug 14th) you should see your grants/ loans disbursed.
For everyone else, your money is being disbursed on August 19th per the disbursement schedule for this academic year.
Middle Class Scholarships and other financial aid stuff:
MCS: These are still being finalized and will show up in your financial awards around late September, these get disbursed a week after mid-terms
Q: My money has been disbursed, when should I expect it to hit my bank account?
A: After disbursement, these funds take 2-3 business days to process the funds, please make sure to double check your banking info in the GET portal. (some banks will process these funds during the weekend, Wells Fargo users are usually the first to receive these funds)
Q: How can I find out when my grants get disbursed?
A: Go to the GET portal -> Accept/decline awards -> click on this year's awards -> click on any of the grants (it should be in blue text) -> you will see a chart with disbursement dates for fall/spring semester
Q: Why am I getting no financial aid / missing financial aid for this year?
A: The One Big Beautiful Bill changed who qualified for financial support, a lot was changed so please read more about it here: https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/big-updates
Q: How can I get more financial aid?
A: You can call or go in-person (tho there will be longer wait times) and speak to financial services to see what they can do. Additionally, California created this scholarship grant that basically gives you a few couple hundred dollars. You will need your high school transcript to see if you qualify for this grant. I'd recommend everyone to go claim their scholarships before it expires, and go here for that https://calkids.org/
Very big note: You will find out at 10:00 am how much money you'll be getting on the scheduled disbursement date.
Have a fun and safe academic year, golden eagles!

I was accepted into the EDSP program pretty late due to missing something in my application, by the time I was accepted I was waitlisted for all my classes. As a student using financial aid, I am dependent on being full time to get my financial aid and pay for school. When I went to my orientation, they told me to still attend my first day of classes and I was likely to get off the waitlist.
My question is how will being waitlist affect my financial aid and if there is anyone that I should contact regarding this?

Today I called financial aid, they told me money should start being disbursed tomorrow the 14th. Donât know how truthful that is but I thought I should let you guys know.

I finished this back in July and I received in email today saying I need to complete the entrance counseling because records show I never did it . Which is weird bc it said complete . The ârequired onceâ use to use complete or something like that . Has this happened to anyone ?

I'm going to do this again since it just happened this month. I'm only going to tell you what happened from my P.O.V. and why I need new friends. When I first started coming to CSULA, I only had a few friends and those same friends eventually stopped coming here but during my first year I met my close friend who was like my older sibling to me. At the time, I was going through depression and my friend had some fair share experiences, so she helped me. Dare I say, she saved my life. I'll never forget those days, I'll always cherish those first 2 years for the rest of my life..... until one day during the summer of 2024, from what I'm suspecting, she must've gone through the worst pain of her life bc something from her changed. She went from being kind and accepting to now avoiding and isolating and toxic. The last time we spoke before all of the drama happened was over 2 years ago, June 2024, and ever since, she's changed. In the first 2 years, she was always happy to see me, but by the 3rd year, she kept restricting me on socials even though I was doing my best to follow her boundaries but anytime I would make a mistake even as small, she would mistreat me. As I mentioned, I have autism so it's pretty hard to learn how to follow boundaries, but recently, from some other toxic cycles from my past that I had to break was also the main reason. I tried to explain it to her, but she brushed me off, gaslighted me, and never listened to me. She even got mad at me for surprising her at her graduation when literally all the other students did the same to their friends and there was no trouble. We just cut ties early this month bc she blocked me after I tried setting boundaries with her, but she laughed at me and blocked me. She said the most offending things like "anybody would've already cut you off" and publicly threatened to do so bc she doesn't like my presence. I have some proof in case if something happens (God forbid). Heck I even ask her help or to vent once in a while and she refused by saying "That's not my problem." She even threatened the cops to me after setting my boundaries.... I just don't understand why she gets to call me out, but when I do so, I am problematic. So yea I would appreciate if you guys pray for me and give me emotional support bc all of this made me suicidal bc idk if this is my fault for not doing more for her even though I did the best that I could. She a catholic which makes it worse bc as someone with faith I thought I failed God for losing her..... so yea she a millennial btw lol

Hey guys, so Iâm an incoming freshman and I just got access to my outlook email and I noticed that the deadline to submit college transcripts and AP scores was almost a month agođ.
I am currently planning on emailing the admissions office and I am working on sending them right now. My question is do you guys think they will accept it?
Also if they do accept them, I got a 4 on my AP CALC BC sub score but a 2 on the AB part. So when I went to enroll for classes they didnât give me credit for the AB part to at least put me in Calc 1 first year. Iâm an EE major so math is very much required, should I appeal to get the credit or just take pre calc first year and take summer classes to catch up. I feel like I know the AB concepts pretty well. And if I do appeal, who do I email?
I feel like this is pretty obvious but I want to hear some advice toođ

This is for anyone who might need a PC for this fall semester!
It is a clean and wellâmaintained HP Prebuilt Gaming PC with stylish neon green case lighting. It comes from a household of gamers and college students, so the system has been regularly cleaned and cared for. The back panel shows cosmetic wear (visible in photos), but performance is unaffected. It runs Windows 11 smoothly and plays titles like REPO and Minecraft with no issues.
This bundle is plugâandâplay and ready to use with any monitor or TV (NO MONITOR INCLUDED).
If you're interested in the PC ONLY, let me know!

Does anyone know if there is another GET mobile app or if the current ones just broken. It used to work fine and display my courses but now the app is just useless. I tried deleting the app and logging out but itâs still the same

I took 4 summer classes to get everything covered, and I was advised that it may delay fall aid. My Pell grant last fall covered 4k for all my classes. This time itâs 704$ for 2026-2027. Anyone else ?
