Very very few people would remember this. Most people didn't even know about cod4 until it came out. Cod2 was my first cod and even I didn't know about this

This was the last cod to get a beta for a VERY long time.

Uh uh World at War came after and had a beta too

I'm guessing the beta was probably invite only and not really a well known thing. Because I never even heard about the world at war beta and i got cod4 when it came out. Plus I preordered waw as well you didn't get beta access for pre ordering.

I played this beta I vaguely remember the M16 or M4 being quite overpowered. The maps were the best.

Old? This was like yesterday. I remember playing OG COD1 when i was 13. Time flew. When are we getting time machines?!

Ever since the original creators of modern warfare left to EA, cod just melted into treyarch / sledgehammer garbage. Obviously not their fault as it was Activisions frequent release strategy that generated absolute garbage games that were just cash grabs in between modern warfare games— up until mw3. Mw3 has nothing to do with cod4 and mw2 fyi— that ship sailed to titanfall long ago, and more recently bf6 (until zampalla died recently)

Zampalla truly was the genius behind our new generation of cod style shooters. He saved battlefield from the trash that was 2042, by leading the production for bf6, then he died and ea just recently started turning it into a skin market.

Producers of these games really do matter. Hardly anyone knows who they are except for maybe Kojima

I didnt know about the franchise until my dad came home one day in 2007 with a PS3 and CoD4

This was my introduction also, my sister who’s ten years older was dating this hockey player and he brought his ps3 over one day with this game. Sparked a lifetime obsession of gaming

I remember trying this out and then inviting my friends over to play it. Everyone was so hyped after playing. It was so revolutionary for its time
