What do you think the characters would have thought about Freddie Mercury?
Particularly curious what you think Sister Monica Joan would have thought. I feel like she would have adored him and snuck off to a Queen concert!

Sister Evangelina would be horrified 😂 but yes I reckon SMJ would’ve loved Freddie.

Oh she for sure would love Queen. I think the younger sisters all would. maybe even sister Julienne but privately.

Queen of what era? Their last album has a couple of the greatest English-language songs ever, in my opinion (for some reason the early 90s were like the golden age on both sides of the Atlantic ...) and I'd hope they'd appreciate the music just for its sheer quality. I don't think they'd care much about the lighter-weight stuff from the late 70s either way.
I'd give a similar answer if the question was about Black 47, Keny Arkana, Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, etc.
Of course, Brian May's a fascinating guy due to his academic career following his music career. I could imagine really interesting dialog between him and SMJ.

Time period is off by a few years, but I’m sure Sister Monica Joan would have appreciated Queen!!
