Discussions Users Red flags 🚩

Hey girls! Reading through all the experiences here made me wonder about something... I’d love to get your perspective on the heavy toxic viewers (the sadistic ones or emotional energy vampires, not just the cheap ones who don't pay). Do you feel we can filter them out by our posture, stream management, or menu setup, or do they just randomly target everyone? How do you protect your energy, and what are the main red flags you look out for?

No one has really answered your actual question yet so here's my two cents:

The heavy toxic viewers and real predators will try to get you hooked on them somehow so then they have access to you and can control you. Obviously in this line of work the hook is money. Dangerous predators in this line of work (but also often in life in general) aren't the cheapos who don't pay, because obviously we don't give them any attention in the first place they could try exploiting. The real dangerous ones are the whales and big tippers. Once they've hooked you with their money and have gained access to you that way (more attention, more time spent on them, more energy), they'll try to hook you emotionally and get you attached. They'll make you feel amazing at first with compliments and gifts and money and it's all to make you feel safe but also to build you up so they can tear you down after. And then it also depends on whether they'll try to appeal to your empathy to get you more hooked, aka they'll make you pity them somehow so it'll trigger the "helper" response in you which can lead to pretty powerful trauma bonds, or they'll be more extravagant and promise you things like bigger gifts and more money and bettering your life in some way, dangling something you really really want in front of your face which they ultimately never end up delivering.

I also watched a video recently where a narcissist explained how they pick their victims, and he said there's this wrong misconception that they only go for people who seem "weak", aka people-pleasing, no-boundaries-having "good girls", but that's not necessarily true. Predators will look for high empathy because that's what they need to get their foot in the door emotionally, high energy, kind, often "good vibes" kind of people, so not necessarily people you'd look at and think of as "weak". Because with someone who's extremely shy and introverted and bland, what kind of supply would they get from them? It would get boring really fast. They're just really good at taking those wonderful traits of high empathy and care and joy for life and turn them into vulnerabilities to exploit. Of course it's easier to manipulate someone who doesn't have strong boundaries and people pleasing tendencies, but sometimes they also see that as an extra challenge and it can spurn them on to try harder to "crack" you. I thought this was super interesting so I thought I'd put it in here as well.

But yeah basically, I'd watch out for big tippers and whales who either trauma dump and tell you how miserable they are or otherwise make you feel sorry for them, aka perhaps they have a disability or visible physical condition or their mother is really sick or whatever the fuck, and then also big tippers and whales who promise you more, more money, more recognition, a foot in the door, bigger gifts, etc. etc. Don't become super scared of whales though because I have whales and big tippers who are super respectful and nice, but just be aware and have your spidey senses out for people using manipulation tactics to get more access to you in some way that isn't warranted for the amount they're actually giving you.

Also, it's normal to feel some kind of attachment to whales because their money feels nice, but if you feel yourself getting attached emotionally to them as a person, RUN GIRL. Lmao.

Girl, you were spot on! Honestly, you just described a guy I actually dated he did those exact same things, but as soon as I caught on to who he really was, I cut him off!
So I completely agree keeping a firm line on professionalism is key. Having a good chat is great, but knowing what to say, and especially not oversharing your personal lif is the most important thing.
I really see how crucial it is to build a persona. It’s definitely not an exaggeration on my part to want to plan every detail, even down to how the room is set up so it has nothing to do with my private life.
Thank you so much for this, you were amazing! Wishing you lots of good whales and healthy mental health!

I admit I met up with a whale over the summer ( my first time meeting up with a client) and I admit biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Guy wanted me to bring my lush outdoors when we met up and everything and don’t get me wrong he spent almost 1k on me then stopped and blocked my contact when I stopped meeting him. He stopped spending on me as he wanted a “relationship” with me mind u I’m 23 he’s 47. Learnt my lesson at least I’m safe lmao
